It’s only my opinion, but I think this line would be a great way to start the book.
(also, you don’t really need the "I thought to myself" that follows. The great thing about first-person perspective is that we always know who’s doing the thinking and who’s shoulder we’re riding on.)
Ana is from Earth. One day she wakes up in the magical world of Treeden. She embarks on quests to find answers, but when she discovers the who brought her here and why, is it possible for her to go home, or do they have other plans in store for her?
