I just read the samples for "The Fairy Stepmother, Inc." and was blown away by the premise. This is the first fairy-tale story I’ve read from the perspective of a Stepmother/Godmother, and I immediately resonated with the main character’s struggle to do right by two very...very difficult princess daughters. Do you think you’ll ever write another story from the perspective of other kinds of ’background’ fairytale characters?
If the world were fair, Evelyn Radcliffe would be a successful businesswoman. Instead, she’s got two dead husbands, two teenage girls obsessed with marrying princes, and not a single fairy godmother in sight.
An excellent opening that demonstrate’s the protagonist’s resolve to protect humans and the abilities that set her apart from said humans. Can’t wait to see how this story develops!
Out of curiosity, what inspired you to write this story? I personally draw inspiration from my favorite stories, favorite hobbies and interesting people I know in real life–is it the same for you?
