Rose Jermusyk liked an update for These are my Friends on Politics

If you followed along last year with my updates on the publication of These Are My Friends on Politics, you’ll recall that the real stars of those updates were the pictures of my 16-year-old dog Nina.

Last month, she passed away. I haven’t brought it up much because (a) I didn’t feel like it and (b) I didn’t have anything valuable to say about losing a beloved pet beyond the fact that I do not recommend the experience. For those who didn’t know Nina firsthand, I’d rather leave you with something uplifting that characterized her life than simply share some sad news amid the endless bad news that keeps hitting us these days.

 So I did the reasonable thing and wrote and illustrated and published a book about her instead. It’s nothing extraordinary — look, *you* try making a book in a month in your spare time during one of your busiest work periods of the year — but it conveys much of what made Nina such a big deal in this little corner of the world. And it has some pretty pictures in it. And it’s more funny than sad. And perhaps it’s a nice distraction and reminder that the world isn’t all bad even if we’re threatening to end it with simultaneous nuclear and civil wars.

 Anyway, it’s available now if you’re interested in taking a look. Thanks for reading, and enjoy. If you have any dog-loving friends whom you think would enjoy this, please pass it on.

    Rose Jermusyk liked an update for When I’m 64

    Good Morning Readers and Happy Tuesday,

    This update has been in the works for a long time now, but the wait is over!  Today is the day!  I am pleased to announce that When I’m 64 has been scheduled for production and will be released on March 27th, 2018.  There are many small deadlines that myself, along with the team at Inkshares will be targeting, so this date is subject to change but we will do everything in our power to have this book in your hands on or before that date.

    Over the past 11 months, I have been working in the wings to ready the book for print.  The developmental edit was hugely helpful and has resulted in a polished manuscript that is ready for the copyeditors to refine.  The cover is a gorgeous visual representation of this story that means so much to me, and is ready to be tweaked to fit the final pour from production. And lastly, the photos that bring the story to life have been lovingly selected and are ready for inclusion within the manuscript.

    There is a lot of work that will need to get done between today and the publication date, but I am eagerly looking forward to all of it.  I will send along important updates as we get closer to the release, but in the interim please feel free to share the link with anyone you think is looking for a good read, has a book club or happens to run a library ;).

     As always, thank you for your support!

    Lauren

      Hey there, readers!

      .

      Despite my battling the start of a nasty head cold, yesterday’s signing event at Barnes & Noble went pretty damn good! I sold a decent stack of books, chatted with some cool people, and probably drank an unsafe-for-humans amount of coffee. Special thanks to everyone who came by, and to the awesome BN staff that let me set up shop for the day.

      And of 16 names in the hat, the winner of the poster giveaway is... MAY KAYYALI! Thank you so much May for grabbing a copy of the book! I’ll be in touch with you soon.

      And now to San Diego, AWAYYYY!

      This coming Saturday, December 9th, I’ll be at the Mysterious Galaxy BookStore (hopefully minus head cold). Starting at 2PM, a handful of authors (including yours truly) will take turns getting on the mic and chatting about their books. Then we will split off into individual signing tables. Come join the fun! See the links below for more info:

      ONE LAST THING! If you wish to buy a signed copy of the book, but you can’t make it out to these events, send me an email at rockhollywood8@gmail.com. I have about 20 copies on-hand that I need to sell. If you order directly from me, not only will you get a PERSONALLY SIGNED copy, but I’ll also send it out ASAP in time for Christmas. Got a friend or family member who might like a silly space adventure? Drop me a line!

          Rose Jermusyk liked an update for Beyond The Code

          Greetings wonderful followers,

          I just got some exciting news from Inkshares. According to them, Beyond the Code should be all printed up in about two weeks, then they’ll start sending out the purchased copies to my wonderful backers. Can’t wait. Be sure to keep an eye on your email if you have moved in the last while so they can get your new mailing address. Wouldn’t want some stranger enjoying your book.

          Thank you all for following me this far.

            Rose Jermusyk liked an update for Storm of Fury

            Hello everyone! Long time no update, but with good reason! I’ve been busy working on a mountain of other projects while Storm of Fury made its slow way through the production process. But that is at an end, and the official publishing date for SoF is January 16th!

            I’ll send another update next date with further details on prices and such, but in the mean time, thank you for your patience!

            Regards,

            Andrew Wood

              Hello Readers of Tales and Verse! It has been too long. We shouldn’t have to limit our time together to National Poetry Month.

              We should be doing this ish all year round!

              In that spirit, I have good news and I have bad news. The bad news is that I will not be focusing on this project any time soon. Though I will be working away at it piece-by-piece behind-the-scenes until its time comes again.

              The good news is that I have begun implementing a new project schedule so that I can actually finish what I start on my ever-growing-and-evolving to-do list of books and stories and poems and plays that I spend way too much time shaking my fist at (And instead keep the writing progress going year-round).

              Less fist-shaking, more writing.

              My plan is to go back and forth between helpful writing and creative writing (all with ties to fairy tale principles, obviously) with each project being given 100 days as my number one priority (10 days in draft mode, 90 days in campaign mode). Here’s my current schedule:

              1. 100 days spent working on 31 Days of Narratemes, a guided journal for questing the crap out of your daily life;
              2. 100 days spent working on The ABCs of Hoarding Like a Dragon, a memoir written as an alphabet book rather than as single linear story (it’s a Polish literary genre, and I’m Polish, so I’m doing it);
              3. 100 days spent on Puttin’ the Puss in Boots, a guidebook to the MASTER CAT method for living happily ever out there; and,
              4. 100 days working on Sally Forth, a paranormal young adult book about a pair of sisters in the aftermath of one of them becoming a ghost who can only communicate by quoting Bill Murray (a very loose re-telling of SnowWhite).

              Now a big part of how I plan to get this done is an accountability practice which I am making public so that we can all get things done together (plus some not-public writing practices):

              1. Every morning from 9:00am-11:30am I live stream my Morning Writing HERE so that anyone can join along and do what they’re going to do;
              2. I have created a 2-part Facebook event (because apparently you can’t created events with more than 52 individual dates) HERE and HERE where folks can keep up-to-date on book section releases and partake of my public accountability practice and get a few bonus goodies along the way;
              3. When I’m not publicly work on 31 Days of Narratemes, a guided journal for questing the crap out of your daily life, I have off-camera writing time scheduled for completing my memoir (then when the memoir writing goes public, my off-camera writing time will be spent on the guidebook, and so forth); and,
              4. At the start of each 100 days of Morning Writing, I’ll start informing readers of my incomplete projects (like you folks reading these poems) of my updated project schedule so that we don’t all forget that this is happening, people, some way, somehow.

              Here’s to having the fairy tale without the lame-isms!

              Good journey, my friends,
              Rose
