@Bryson Boylen I believe we connected on this via email! We’ll be sending you another copy, definitely a fluke. Thanks so much for bringing it to our attention. Emailing hello(at)inkshares.com is always best. Our new Operations Manager, Elena Stofle, will be taking over soon! (cc) @Joseph Terzieva
When Bounty Hunter Max Bell gets caught up in a deadly conspiracy, he must use his mysterious powers while planet hopping through the solar system to find the Mastermind before it’s too late.
Mine has a bit of that in it too. At least it’s in the world building. Unfortunately, it won’t really come out in the story until later,in the third book most likely. Part of the problem for me is that medieval times people tended to not know or care much about things beyond the nearest big town, much less beyond the stars. So I have to dribble hints of it in the folklore and legends. If I reversed it and had the story from the space people’s point of view it would all spill out quickly, but not seem nearly as intriguing. Plus using science to explain magic takes a bit of the fun away.
Yicheng Liu pulls no punches in The Remains of Civilization. His characters are irreverent, intrigued, and interesting, and I can tell that the story will spiral out on a roller-coaster of action, comedy, and shenanigans. Looking forward to reading the rest!
