Hey guys, update time.
Update for Tuesday the 26th of May:
We're into the final push towards the 31st of May and the end of the Sword & Laser contest. We've finally gone over the 100 sale mark but Ghosts of War is still currently just over 200 copies out of 5th place, so it's quite a climb, but I'm not losing hope that we can still push this over the line.
As a booster to the end of this competition I've compiled an 8 chapter preview of the book, you can view/download it at the link below. It's around 100 pages and should give a good insight into the story, the characters and their relationships and hopefully will leave you wanting to read the rest.

Getting 200+ orders in the next few days isn't going to be easy, so as always I'd love it if you could help me out by sharing the link to the sample (it contains links to order the book) and using whatever methods of coercion you have at your disposal to convince your friends/family/coworkers/underlings/minions to grab a copy. Every little bit helps.
On the writing front, there have been a few changes to the end of the story. There were some key characters who were just sitting around (literally, they were in a room doing nothing) while all the climactic stuff was going on and based on everything I'd written up to that point, I realised there was no way in hell those characters would just sit idly by. So I've been planning out and reorganising the ending a bit to incorporate them a bit better.
It's actually been a good thing to happen as bits of my prior ending didn't make much sense and the premise they set up for the sequel wasn't going to work. So now this ending works better and it's allowed me to further develop my ideas for the sequels which I've been doing a bit of as well.
Good times.
Update for Monday the 11th of May:

I will update again when the time lapse video goes up, but as always if you'd like to see more of BrotherBaston's work you can check him out here:
Now in the little break I've had from writing I actually found myself back doing a bit of art again (it's been a long time and quite a bit of rust had to be knocked off) and I started working on a picture of Kira. It's a more realistic (if a bit rough around the edges) take on her character compared to what Patrick has done for me, but I decided to incorporate the scarf he gave her into it and call it finished.

I'm also happy to report that Ghosts of War has pushed past the 50 orders mark but it's unfortunately quite a ways behind 5th place (100 orders to be precise), so I'm still in need of a lot of help to get this over the line in the next couple of weeks. So if you could help spread the word and try and bring in some orders it'd be greatly appreciated.
Every order counts.
Until next time guys.
Quick little follow up to yesterday's update.
It's Sunday update time...and it's an exciting one.
Today I received the first bits of art from Patrick Le Roux (BrotherBaston) and they've come out really cool. Here's a group shot of the four main characters that form Shadow Point.

I really like how they came out and I hope you all do too. There'll be a couple more character shots coming later this week so keep an eye out.
If you'd like to see more of BrotherBaston's work you can find him here:
Some time soon he should be uploading timelapse videos of the creation of the above pictures, but I don't have a timetable on that as yet so I'll keep you posted.
As a short writing update, it's progressing well but after a solid month of writing I've decided to take a few days off over the weekend and will get back to finishing up the first draft this week. I'm into the last few chapters so hopefully it won't be too much longer till the draft is complete and then...rewrites.
Also in case you missed it, earlier in the week I posted a new excerpt from the book, you can find it at the link below.
And lastly, thank you to all the new backers in the last week, your support is really appreciated.
Until next time.
