Dearest Readers,

We’ve managed to pull into third place! It’s a precariously small lead of only 5 pre-orders, so our work is far from done, but thank you all from the bottom of my heart for helping me achieve this success. I must check the scores five times a day (possibly more) to see how I’m doing in the rankings. As we’ve risen in sales, so have my competitors. I know they’re just as anxious to rank in the top three as I am, so I’m not surprised. 

After my graduation ceremony at Stanford, where I read an excerpt of my novel (very fun), I went to a workshop on getting published and how to market one’s work. I’ve taken that input to heart and will be trying a few things over the next week to see if I can gain some distance on my 4th and 5th place competitors. If I find any strategies that work, I’ll be sure and share them with you all.

Individual notes of gratitude are coming shortly. I just wanted to let you all know that we’re getting there! Only two weeks left to keep pushing for a third place finish and a guaranteed publication of APEX!

My sincerest thanks to all of you who have pre-ordered a copy of APEX and recommended to your friends to pre-order as well. I’m now within 6, yes SIX, pre-orders of 3rd place. With your support, my novel APEX has moved into 4th place in the Crypt TV contest, which is very exciting! I have 48 readers and 59 pre-ordered copies, but I think we can do better and bump me up higher in the rankings with your help getting the word out to your friends through social networking. We’re only 35 new reader pre-orders out of 3rd place!

Please let people know about my book through Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter, or even a small email blast to those you know would like my book and may not use or frequent social media sites.

If you like this page and share it with your network, any referral you generate will reward you with an Inkshares credit you can use for other purchases.

Pre-orders have been declining, now down to just two a day, so let’s try and reverse that by inspiring a bunch more avid readers out there to pre-order a copy and bump me up into the top 3 award winners!

Tonight, I’m posting Chapter 2 to motivate those of you still on the fence to consider pre-ordering a copy. If you’ve already ordered a copy, see if you can get a friend or loved one to order a copy as well.

The contest ends October 31st, which is rather fitting, so let’s get the word out now.

Dear Readers,

Thank you so much for your encouragement and support this week. I’m so honored to have 47 pre-orders for my book, APEX. Thank you for pre-ordering a copy! In addition, many thanks to those of you that took time out of your busy schedules to write me a recommendation or review, or who sent me a message saying they liked my book. It has been a heartwarming experience.

I’m still early in my campaign period, but I have a long way to go to reach 750 pre-orders. I’d also love to be in the top three for the Crypt TV award, which would give my book special recognition and ensure its publication. If you could spread the word among your friends and followers, I’d sincerely appreciate it.

If anyone has an idea on how to further shamelessly promote my book through other channels beyond Facebook, LinkedIn, and Inkshares, please let me know. All suggestions are much appreciated.

I would like to thank all of you for following my book and extend a special thanks to those of you who have pre-ordered a copy. Day one went well with 25+ pre-orders, which was so gratifying to see as an author.

I’ve uploaded Chapter 1 as promised, which switches viewpoints to Jason, an under cover FBI agent investigating Claire. The next several chapters are in Jason’s POV to maintain the mystery and suspense. Enjoy!
