Since it seems a common thing to do here, I thought I’d offer some goals to help motivate pre-orders.

If Battle Flag pulls in:

150 pre-orders in the first month I’ll post up the crest for Jovanne’s main squadron from the book

250 by the middle of the campaign will bring up a short story following one of Jovanne’s shipmates that directly ties in to some of the history and motivations for some of the big events

If the project fully funds I’ll look into getting some physical patches or hats with the squadron logo embroidered on it. But I can’t promise anything because I don’t have a much money for any sort of physical rewards.

To reiterate, the book is ready to go. Once the 250 or 750 goals is hit the book goes straight off to Inkshares as soon as they are ready for it. No waiting around for me to write it.

Alright folks it’s on. Pre-orders are available now for Battle Flag: The Road To Hell.

So Monday, the 18th, is the big day. I’m going to open up Pre-orders for Battle Flag: The Road To Hell and I hope it takes off. If you haven’t read any of it yet take a look, maybe leave a comment, or just read The Battle Plan to see what my big pie in the sky hopes are for the series. I know the chapters are a little long but the book is pretty big because it needs to setup a lot of things for the series.

As I said in an earlier comment, the book is done and ready for publication, I’m just doing another read through to fix some spelling mistakes I saw in the sample chapters and to tweak one or two little things here and there.

So I haven’t posted news in awhile, what with the holiday and family in town and what not, so here’s the latest, what little there is.
My plan for preorders is to wait until after the Nerdist contest ends, partly in the hopes that interest in the other projects here will broaden and partly to see if Battle Flag will fit in with the next one, if there is one. At that point I figure I gotta take the leap on this even though I don’t have a ton of followers. I’m also going to bring a Young Adult SF book I’ve got and maybe pit the two together in mortal combat. :)
So after the 15th things are gonna change up a bit.

So considering how far ahead the last sample chapter was, in the book, I posted something a little different tonight.

The Battle Plan is simply an outline of how I want to work this series out. I’ve got a little more complex outline for this plan but this one is simplified for a quick read. If you’ve got any questions about the series plans hit me up in the comments or do the highlight thing in the chapter reader.

Anyway, I’m formulating a strategy now for my preorder campaign and I’ll be opening that up soon.

Two new chapters are up now.

Chapter Eighteen deals with some Jorian politics and some wrinkles in the villain’s plans.

And Thirty-Four dives into the opening moves of the final battle of the book.

I picked these because they didn’t seem too reliant om other chapters to be understandable but also display some of the type of action I’m after.

So check it out and let me know what you think.

2 new chapters are now up. I went a little deeper into the book and pulled out chapters 5 and 16. Chapter 5 introduces a black ops agent, and her team, who work for the Coalition in its initial war effort. Chapter 16 chronicles Camus’ final mission and I think it’s some of the strongest writing I’ve done in the book.

I’ve uploaded Chapter 2 and I think I’ll bring up two more later. However, I don’t want to just go 1,2,3, etc. If you want to see some chapters from elsewhere in the book let me know. Drop a comment from 3-48 and I’ll post one of those chapters next.

Welcome to Inkshares! You’re already off to a great start by posting a chapter and a thorough summary of yourself and your project.

Right now, you’re in Draft mode, so people will be able to come by and read any chapters that you’ve posted, highlight and comment on sections of writing that they especially like, and make recommendations for or leave reviews on your story. You may also recieve critiques or feedback, and you’ll likely recieve more if you ask for it in your comments or your "About" section.

A good step for you right now would be to explore the site, check out other authors and projects and Follow ones that look interesting to you (which will increase the likelihood that those authors will Follow you back), and don’t be afraid to ask questions in the forum if you have any.

To anyone wondering, the book is complete and ready to go. I’m new to the whole Inkshares thing so any advice is welcome.
