So I’ve been quiet for a bit, but with good reason, I crashed my bike two weeks ago and a broken rib is a good excuse to be lazy. We’re currently sitting out about a month and half left in the campaign so you know get your orders in soon.

In the very near future I am going to go through and do another big edit on The Road To Hell. I actually finished the manuscript and edited it several times three years, or more, ago. But, as I’ve been thinking of it recently, I thought of a few things I could do differently in the story or different ways I could say somethings so I figured I ought to take another pass at it. As I get chapters redone I’ll replace the ones that are on the project’s page. So if there’s any advice or anything you’d like to see changed drop some critiques on the chapters now. If the orders are rolling in fast at the end of the campaign I’ll get an extension on it and keep bringing up more of the redone chapters, until that halfway chapter that’s already up.

See you later!

Well it’s been a busy couple of weeks, for me, but not for Battle Flag, apparently. We’re down to 70 days left and still only 10 orders to show for it. Is there anything about the book you don’t like? Because, if so, let me know and if not maybe recommend it to some friends or drop a little review on it, hell even a negative review is better than nothing.

Anyway, I figured I should probably drop some kind of update today, seeing as how I missed last Friday, because things have been so slow going I figured you might all think that I had died or something.

Talk to you later.

So I hope all of you in the US had a good 4th of July and retained all of your fingers and toes whilst celebrating. Me I made the dumb move of picking up No Man’s Sky on the Steam sale and I got lost in that for awhile, which is why this Friday update is going out so late at night, it takes forever to get anything done in that game. Anyway, does that mean NMS is taking time away from me writing Battle Flag? Hell no, Battle Flag is done and ready to go. The only time I’ll have to do any further writing on it is after the Inkshares editors, or any other editor, gets done with it and tells me what needs changing.

That last bit was for the newcomers, to whom I say welcome! I’m glad you’re all here.

Even though the Nerdist contest is over it doesn’t mean you can’t get in early on the preorders. Let’s get those orders going folks, the current tally is standing at 10! Not 10 people 10 actual books ordered. Come on let’s make this thing happen!

So Nerdist contest is over and Battle Flag made it to 25th! Yay!

Okay, I’ll stop being sarcastic now. :)

In fact, I never really expected to have much of a shot in the contest and that helped keep my spirits up. I wasn’t expecting much but I took my shot anyway and I’m happy with things. The preorders, however, are obviously still going on and will keep going until Sept. 30th so somewhere down the line I hope everybody who gets this will put in a preorder before then.

Talk to you later.

So there’s nine days left in the Nerdist contest and if you’re reading this then you’ve obviously directly followed Battle Flag and not just me. So the time to order is now, if you haven’t already. If you have ordered thank you from the bottom of my heart. I’ll be honest, I was kind of banking on the contest giving me a bit of an edge but then again I’m always foolishly optimistic everything because if I wasn’t I’d have to commit myself.

If you wait till after the contest ends any order is just as appreciated and this time I set the campaign for little longer so it’ll end some time in September. I’m doing what I can on my end, which is somewhat inadequate, but I could still use any help you’re willing to give. If someone is following you but not me maybe recommend this to them.

I did just finish a Q&A for writing blog, I’m not sure how big it is because I don’t really follow any blogs at all, so maybe that will bring in some extra folks.

Well talk to you later!

So we’re two weeks out from the end of the Nerdist contest and Battle Flag is currently sitting at 25th. If you’re planning on ordering please do so before the end of the contest. My follower count isn’t quite high enough to crack the top three, unless everybody brings a friend along, but I am hoping to at least make bit of a splash with the judges. I’m not what I can outside of Inkshares but I don’t know a lot of people to begin with.

Anyway, have a good week and good luck with your own projects.

PREORDERS ARE OPEN NOW!

So the campaign is going to run for 115 days, from when you get this, but that’s no reason to wait! Battle Flag is also entered in the Nerdist contest, which ends on June 27th, so get your orders in early to help bump the book into the top 3. It’s a good chance to make a minor miracle happen.

I’ve helped out a lot of authors here in the past, as much as I can afford to, and could use a little help now. If this campaign fails to fund, or place in the contest, I’m likely to give up on Inkshares for getting it published and may turn to some other resource, or just let it sit around for a few years until I can achieve a little success with another project and spend some of that success on this. But that also means that my bigger plans for the series will probably not happen either, at least not to the level I had planned.

The next 20 days are critical to shift the odds a bit, so please at least pick up an E-Book even if you never intend to read it.

As a little motivation to get things going: If the book pushes into the top 3 for the contest I’ll release a short story that chronicles an important bit of Ramirov’s past. If the book places in the top 3 or funds to the 250 or 750 levels, I will draw one contributor, who is not a family or friend, who will be given the chance to rename one of the ships in The Road To Hell before it goes to publication. I’m not gonna lie, it won’t be a major ship because the editing requirements for say renaming the Rampart would be a nightmare, but I have one in mind and it will be notable. However, anyone who orders who wants to chime in on a character or ship name I will happily consider it and quite possibly use it in a future book in the series. But if the campaign fails all these lines of communicating ideas may dry up, because I’ll be too busy chasing new agents or promoting the book through something Amazon or Createspace.

So please, please, go grab a copy now!

Thanks for riding along with me.

So a little treat, the last TWO sample chapters are out for The Road To Hell and they’re on time! Yeah I’m easily entertained. So I guess the next question is when will preorders start? Well I’m a little gun shy about opening orders again because the last time it failed miserably. But I’m going to take a look at the Nerdist contest, to see if there’s anything special I need to do to enter it, and maybe start them up today. I’ll be contacting everybody on my followers list and there or more people following just me than there are following Battle Flag so if I DM you twice please forgive me.

But hey if you’re reading this now you’ll know when they preorders start so I hope all of you will pick up a copy.

Thanks for being with me on this little romp.

Chapter 23 is up and ready to go and on time too! This leaves two more chapters to go before the halfway point in the book and the end of the samples. I’m thinking that maybe on the next update I’ll just release the last two together. I originally considered this idea to maybe get in a little earlier than planned on the new Nerdist contest but from what I’ve read on the contest Battle Flag won’t really qualify for it.

I’m still picking at the outline for TPOB but I’m also focused on finishing up another short story that I’m going to try and get published through a magazine, but the outline is moving along slowly but surely.

Catch you next week!

Alright dudes, what’s going down in Groovetown? Well for one Chapter 22 is up for you’re perusal. Seeing the new Nerdist contest has me excited. It just started and the last sample chapters will be out well before the contest ends, so it should be taking preorders by then, and as I’ve been bleating on for the last year or so any help you folks give me steering followers onto the Battle Flag page would be greatly appreciated.

TPOB’s outline is moving along slowly but that’s primarily due to extricating plot threads from one outline and fitting them into a different one but it’s coming along.

Anyway, that’s all for now. Enjoy the chapters and enjoy the weekend!
