Geez, Louise - A spoiler warning would have been nice!
Fellow comrades in arms,

We've won the battle for Oz. It wasn't easy, but we did it. The witches are back in their death trap mountains, the New Queen is God-knows-where (?), and Dorothy and Alice have safely returned home (for now).

But there's a new war to fight - one in the kingdom of Alpenwhist. It is not of this world, and cannot be accessed by riding on a tornado or sliding down a rabbit hole. The only way to enter is through the pages of the book itself.

So, to give you a glimpse of Alpenwhist, I've uploaded the first chapter of the book. You can read it here: https://www.inkshares.com/projects/the-slave-prince/book_segments/chapter-1-7371

If you think it's a war worth fighting, claim a royal title and be a part of this fight for freedom. I definitely need an army to win this one, and I could really use your help!

*Have store credits but no idea what to do with them? Claim a Duke & Duchess title. Prefer to be heirs to the throne? Why not crown yourself Prince & Princess? It's not everyday you can be a royal :)

I've got a new book! And it's on Inkshares!

This time around, I've submitted a title for the Sword & Laser Collection Contest.

This contest runs from now till January 15th, 2016. The top 3 books with the highest unique reader pre-orders will be published by Inkshares, and possibly added to the Sword & Laser Collection. Simply put, it's a race to get as many orders as possible in a month's time.

So, what title did I submit for this contest?

Visit here to find out: https://www.inkshares.com/projects/the-slave-prince

You can read all about the book there and then consider ordering an e-book to help kickstart the project. I know I cannot succeed in this project without your help, but I don't want to hustle for money either.

Crowd-funded publishing is a tough industry to break into, but I believe it is a platform that gives hope to all authors - no matter who you are or where you come from. Succeeding a second time would mean a lot to me, and I'm hoping for another Christmas miracle this year. So, do consider an e-book :)

If you have any question, feel free to email me at jeynagrace@gmail.com.

Maybe I can end 2015 with another successful book project. But just like last year, I know I won't be able to do it without you.

Should you be interested in the Sword & Laser Collection Contest, you can read about it here: https://www.inkshares.com/contests/the-sword-laser-collection-contest-the-sequel

*On a side note, I did an interview with a fellow Inksharian on world building and The Battle for Oz. If you're curious about what I've to say, you can head over here for a read: https://epicfantasywriter.wordpress.com/2015/12/04/world-builders-jeyna-grace/

#InksharesHoliday

(Just in case you didn't read the Inkshares email, here I am hoping you'll read mine.)

In celebration of Inkshares' first anniversary and this holiday season, a site-wide 'Buy 1 Free 1' promotion is being thrown. If you buy any eligible physical, published book on Inkshares, you'll get another copy for free! That free copy would make an awesome Christmas gift, if you ask me.

This promotion ends on December 11, and is limited to one free copy per order, while stocks last. So quickly get your copies of The Battle for Oz, box it up in red, and you'll have the most Christmas-y gift ever. You know, cause it's red and green? Yea.

Looking back at 2015, I feel blessed being one of the 17 authors to have their books published by Inkshares. It was during October to December 2014 where I started crowd-funding The Battle for Oz, and I never thought I would be here today. So, I just want to say another thank you for all the support you've given me and my book. I would not be writing this update if it weren't for you. Thank you!

Anyway, do check out the Inkshares promotion and the other books in store. Forget about socks and chocolate this year. There's definitely a book for everyone, so go for books. #BooksForChristmas
1,000 copies sold!

I've hit a milestone in my publishing career that I've been dreaming of for a long time. Thank you for being a part of this journey and helping me accomplish this feat :) I have never sold this many books before, that's for sure. So thank you, thank you, thank you!

That being said, the question that begs to be answered now is, will it be possible to sell another 1,000 copies?

I say, yes. If and only if you're still willing to stand beside me. I need an army to fight my way in this competitive publishing industry, and I could really use your help. Will you enlist?

If you think I'm worth partnering, if you think this war is worth fighting, here's what I need you to do:

#1 Share The Battle for Oz with your friends.
Conveniently, the book can be bought on Amazon and Barnes & Noble. The cover is also green... which makes for an awesome Christmas present!

#2 Leave reviews
On Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/The-Battle-Oz-Jeyna-Grace/dp/1941758312
On Goodreads: http://goodreads.com/book/show/25629089-the-battle-for-oz
And on your own blog, if you own one.

These are the only two things I need from you. I can only do so much, but you can help me do more. So, I'm leaving it in your hands.

You're in command of this battle now, General. Should we go for war? It's your call.

Dear wonderful reader,

This weekend, I will be distributing and shipping all the Malaysian orders. So to my fellow Malaysian, you'll get your copy soon. For the rest around the world, I believe you've already received your copy in the mail. I hope you're enjoying the book so far :)

Now, on to an important update. September 15 has come and gone, but the push to get the book more traction continues on. I will need a huge favour from you to help others discover The Battle for Oz. It's pretty simple. All I need is your review.

Getting reviews on Amazon is really crucial to the sales of the book. It pushes the book up the title list, so others will be able to find it easier on the site. If you have an account, please leave a review on the book. It will help The Battle for Oz go further. I would REALLY appreciate your help in this area.

You can also leave a review on Goodreads. There are a couple of reviews on this site already. Be sure to check it out and read what others think about the book.

Thank you in advance for boosting The Battle for Oz. A single review goes a long way. Your review will definitely help my book stand out from the crowd :)

On a side note, Young Entertainment Magazine recently published my interview piece on their site. They called my book a literary equivalent of a masterful musical mashup

You can give it a read here: http://youngentertainmentmag.com/young-adult-books/jeyna-grace-wonderland-land-of-oz/

Well, that's all for this update! Thank you for your constant support in my bookish endeavour. A writer is nothing without her readers. I can only do so much, but your actions will take The Battle for Oz to greater heights. So thank you!

I hope you have a wonderful weekend ahead and happy reading The Battle for Oz!

*A special shout out to all the Inkshares authors who have supported The Battle for Oz. Thank you! I'll be sure to check out your books too :)

A reason to check my mailbox today! :) Jeyna, I hope you'll check my son Robert Wren's book, Ophelia, Doll, and pre-order a copy if you like it. It's a dark fantasy. I look forward to reading your book hopefully this weekend!

And... The Battle for Oz is off to the printer!

I work in a publishing house where I'm constantly seeing books and magazines being printed. They arrive on my desk warm and fresh from the oven. But nothing beats knowing that your own work is about to be paperbacked. Thank you for helping me make that happen!
