Story Update!
The crew of The Diamelen are bringing a lot of state-of-the-art equipment on their survey mission to Tantalus 13, but nothing comes anywhere close to matching the sheer awe-inspiring power of Attila, their relativistic directed-energy drill.
Firing a beam described as "the concentrated wrath of God," this monster is powerful enough to literally carve planets to pieces.

Why did Exotech send such a powerful device to what was supposed to be a relatively low-profile survey mission? Can this drill do more than merely clear the way for the crew’s exploration into the depths of Tantalus 13? Or does it have a secret purpose even the crew doesn’t know?
You know the drill (sorry, couldn’t resist). Pre-order Tantalus Depths and share with all your friends!
Time for another character update! This time we meet The Diamelen’s ever-eager geologist, Becky Traviss!

Will Becky’s inquisitive mind and extensive experience exploring exoplanets help the crew discover the mysteries of Tantalus 13? Will her insatiable curiosity lead her to push the crew deeper into the depths of this alien world than it is prepared for? Will her academic experience be of any use when things begin to unravel around her? Find out when you place your pre-order of Tantalus Depths!
Time for Friday’s Vlog! This time I discuss how the same guidelines for creating characters can be used in the creation of fictional worlds as well!
Check it out, and don’t forget to keep showing support for Tantalus Depths! We’re past 400 pre-orders now and still growing strong, thanks to your help!

Author spotlight!
This week, I’d like to direct your attention to the fascinating dark fantasy Borehole Bazaar: A Vow Unbroken, by Kendra Namednil

This is a fantasy epic of a different breed. Familiar fantasy creatures coexist and interact in unfamiliar but truthful-seeming ways in a world where one must tread carefully amidst hostile forces on all sides, at all times. Kendra expertly sets the tone and breathes atmosphere into this masterwork of dark fantasy. This isn’t a fantasy land for escapists: this is a brutal, savage land full of danger and catastrophe. In a world like this, where everything is at odds with you no matter who you are...just imagine what kind of hero can arise.
Get this book to Quill, because I really want to read it.
Also, Tantalus Depths is only 6 pre-orders away from 400. Just saying ;)

Character Update:
This week’s highlighted crew member is none other than the stern, by-the-books mission commander, Drake Gorrister.

Is Commander Gorrister’s focus on discipline and procedure the necessary key ingredient to hold the crew together when things take a turn for the worse? Will his leadership skills be up to the challenge of managing the greatest exploratory mission ever faced by man? Or will his limited adaptability prove disastrous for him and the entire crew?
Find out in the pages of Tantalus Depths!
Tantalus Depths is now just 5 orders away from 375: the halfway point to the ultimate 750 pre-order goal. Let’s get it over that hill! Pre-order a copy right away, and get your friends and family to do the same. It’ll be a downhill journey soon.
It’s Wednesday! That means it’s time for me to take a minute and shine the spotlight on a fellow Inkshares author. This time, I want to give a little shout out to Mothering: The Game by Regina McMenomy, Ph.D.
I think Regina’s doing something really special here. Presenting the experience of first-time motherhood from the point of view of a gamer is something I’ve never seen before in writing, yet I know so many people who could relate so well to it. It’s really refreshing to see girl gamers get the proper recognition they deserve for their innate awesomeness, and mom gamers are even cooler. Dr. McMenomy is the kind of mom I think we’d all like to have.
I’m a single, childless male, yet I’m eagerly looking forward to getting my hands on my copy of this book. I can’t wait to see this memoir unfold, from loading screen to end credits.
Please consider placing a pre-order for Mothering: The Game. The Nerdist Video Game Contest has only 9 days to go, and she’s currently holding steady at 6th place. I think it deserves to level up.
