The Beat of Hearts and Drums is a beautifully abstract work, told to the reader through the eyes of the narrator. This techniques fuses the author's voice with that of the characters so that the world is experienced on several different levels. We are privileged to be guided by the confident hand of the protagonist while experiencing the world ourselves. I can't wait to see where this goes.
