200 pages done, the most I have ever written. Pretty proud of myself. and unlike many other attempts, I still have a succinct vision for the last third of the book. My mind is swimming with all the needed additions, removals, and polishing I will need to do on my re-write but I’m excited to finally finish a novel. I’ve completed hundreds of short stories and novellas. but there is something exhilarating about the idea of writing those last words of the last page in a couple months.

120 pages down. still figuring out this new writing schedule. New chapter up! still a rough draft forgive the abundant grammatical and spelling errors. let me know what you think. next week I’ll put up chapter 3. that will finally show the antagonist. enjoy.

Well after a promotion at work, and a crazy couple of weeks getting into my new schedule I’m back on track. Page 100 is down! Roughly one third of the way there!

I just read your last comment Adam, I had a similar problem, one thing I learned to do to keep me interested is leave holes to fill in the planning process, that way you can fill them as you write. It helps an author stay interested when the author doesn’t even know what’s going to happen next.

80 pages of first draft done!!! This is usually the point in the past I have lost interest or come to a block, but the story seems to be going along smoothly. Been trying to post a second chapter but have been having trouble. even just copying and pasting into the editor doesn’t seem to be working. I’ll keep trying, as I want everyone to see chapter 2 and 3 as it will show how perspective will change between the 3 characters.

So this is my first update on Tell No Tales, and I have to say this story is surprising me. What started out as an idea for a young adult novel has morphed, while I’ve been writing, into a full on Horror novel.

I don’t plot out my stories and tend to let the narrative pull me along for the ride, similar to the way Stephen King writes (though I don’t claim to be a grand master, like him). So the story of Devin, Carly and Tuck is going to be surprising for anyone who reads it, and hopefully exciting. I am working to make the first 50 pages feel like a climax in terms of action and story.

So far in the three weeks I’ve been working on Tell No Tales I have completed 6 chapters and will soon be posting a second chapter her to read. I would love any questions or comments that might help me along with my story. Thanks, and have fun!
