This is an interesting concept.  I like the way you showed the thought process of Alison.  I am a sucker for any sort of Sci-Fi, but A.I. will always have a special place in my heart.  I think that you did a nice job of showing the possible limitations of what we call living.  I look forward to reading more.  Good luck with funding!

Omega Children takes on the qualitative aspects of what makes life in a sci-fi thriller and the introduction is enough to see the serious philosophical debate which rages on among the characters. The way the characters interact with their technology makes them feel like they are people within the world which allows the story to flourish. A great addition to the world of sci-fi!

To me, seeing the evolution up to full A.I. is far more fascinating than seeing the aftermath. Both the prologue and the sample chapter provided are excellently written, and each provide a decidedly different tone.With the prologue we are taken into what I presume to be a much later point in the story during a seemingly sinister moment as the main character comes to the realization that the machine is in fact alive.With the sample chapter you get what is mostly the main character's largely internal ponderings on just what qualifies something as alive, a practice in philosophy which manages to be both humorous at times and thought provoking throughout and serves to shed a bit of light on the realization from the prologue.If you're like me and a fan of science fiction that makes you think, or more accurately to philosophize, then this is without a doubt a book you'll want to read.
