Introduction
I would like to begin by explaining that the concepts presented in Living in the Middle Finding Balance in Life are based on a collection of thoughts and philosophies derived from various sects of Buddhism that have been shared all over the world for centuries. Therefore, they are not new ideas or concepts at all. For some they may even be very familiar to you. For others, they may be new ideas to you. In either case, my desire is merely to share these concepts with you as I have found that they can be very inspirational when incorporated into one’s life.
Additionally, this book is not intended to be a book on religious tenets or Buddhist practices or in any way a manual based on any religion. My intent is to glean some of the key aspects found in Buddhism that I personally found can be amazingly beneficial to living a less encumbered more balanced life. Through the following pages I will share these aspects as a non-religious more philosophical approach to finding balance in life.
This life approach is called the Middle Way in Buddhism. I will honor the philosophies that come from it by referring to it as the Middle Way. As it is the basis for what is written on these pages.
I hope you enjoy reading and incorporating many of the thoughts and philosophies presented in this book into your life for personal enrichment. Again, the intent is not to be a manual or guide. It is simply a reflective journey of thought with suggestions to help you to live a more balanced life by incorporating a middle way approach to living life. It is an approach that will restore that needed balance through the discovery of living in the middle. Especially, as we face the daily challenges in today’s world. Thank you and enjoy!
