What a great start you had to your novel! My only concern was, there seemed to be too much telling and not enough showing/expressing. I read some of your discussions below and I wish you the best with whatever you’re trying to do, even though this may be a few years too late. Great work!

Hello, Readers.

Alas, we are getting down to the end of our time here, and it looks like we aren’t going to hit the mark. We’re only 227 copies short of the goal, but with 10 days left, that seems like an insurmountable feat.

I blame myself. I jumped into this eagerly but without any planning and forethought, which is usually when I end up falling on my face. That said, I am glad for all of you that supported me in this, and I don’t want to lose touch with you.

I believe in what Inkshares does, even if it didn’t work this time. I think it’s a great model for new voices to find an audience and prove that they are worth taking a chance on.

God’s Evil isn’t going away. From the very beginning, I have said that this story wants to be out there, and it will find its audience. I need to help it along better.

Please sign up for my mailing list, follow me on Twitter, and like me on Facebook so I can keep in touch with all of you about what’s coming down the line. This isn’t goodbye. It’s simply time to regroup and come back with a better strategy.

Trying something new today. Tune in at 12:15 to my Twitter, @JSCarterGilson, for the first big #saveboston push.

We’re getting to the halfway point, and clearly presales are not what I was hoping for. This is my fault, as I’ve never been very good at self-promotion. But there won’t be any giving up here.

First, if you haven’t purchased your copy of God’s Evil, now is a great time to do so. It’s also a great time to tell your friends about it and encourage them to buy as well. As you all know, there is no risk. Either you get a book, or you get a full refund. No other crowdfunding operation can give you that sort of guarantee.

Next, I am introducing a Twitter/Instagram/Facebook/Ironic-verbal-conversation hashtag for promoting God’s Evil:

#SaveBoston is what every piece of promotion I do is going to be tagged with from now on. It may not trend, but who knows?

I’m excited about this novel, and about this world. If this novel publishes, there will be others.

If we get to 50 pre-orders before my birthday (March 23), I’ll send chapter 3 exclusively to my followers.

Thanks for your support!

Today is Leap Day, so what better day to try a Twitter storm? I’m posting all day linking to GOD’S EVIL here on Inkshares, and I would really appreciate it if you could share it with your friends and followers. Just pick any of the tweets so far (and there’s more coming) and retweet it.

My Twitter feed is at http://twitter.com/jscartergilson and I’m trying to generate more interest. Thank you for following and thanks again for your support.

All, thank you for the support. For those who have pre-ordered,  you’ve got this book up to 2% of the goal to get it published. We’re ten days in to the funding period, so that’s a little behind the pace, but this is a marathon, not a sprint.

But I need your help to get there. I’m not asking you to buy more copies than you have, though I  won’t say no to that. No, I’m asking you to go to the God’s Evil page on Inkshares and share it with your friends on Facebook and Twitter and any other social network you may use.

Nothing sells like personal recommendations from friends, so I’m asking you to help me spread the word. Thank you, and have a great weekend!
