A fascinating twist on the post-apocalyptic genre. I like the grounded approach, and the idea of a world that's basically on life support is a fascinating concept.

Mixing in backstory with the narration, the narrative expertly weaves the past environment into the current situation, while raising the stakes and setting the tone of the work in one chapter. There are enough new terms to place the reader in the world of the story without isolating them. The protagonists (I'm assuming) are engaging and refreshing with a strong female lead and a male support her with his gadgets. I look forward to reading more.
