I wonder if anyone had seen the horrified look on others’ faces when they see you taking out a phone that is not deemed high-tech enough for you. A friend actually made me felt that I have committed the most humongous sin ever in human history because I was still using my Sonny Ericsson K550i. Sony Ericsson K550i is just a colored screen phone with ability to call, SMS and some simple applications. It is definitely not a high-tech smart phone with the touch screen capacities, many apps, beautiful LED screen and wifi abilities that iPhone or the Samsung Galaxy have.
We passed by some shops while shopping for things and this friend even made comparison of me with a guard by the phones we were using. She remarked that even the guard is better than me. I interpreted that she meant that I was having a lower social status and salary so low that even a guard is having a better phone than me. It hurts to make the person feel ashamed of the things they own than who they are.
I am one of the generation Y . I have a hate and love relationship with technologies.
