Hi!
You probably don’t remember me. It’s been 7 years since the last update I posted to this website.
Here’s a refresher of what I was about.
My project, A Sanguinary Rose, is available for preorder and you can go check it out on Goodreads: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/244477237-a-sanguinary-rose
I decided to take on the self-publishing journey, and I couldn’t be more excited to announce that my YA Urban Fantasy novel launches on January 26, 2026 in Kindle, paperback, and hardcover editions. Here’s the final blurb:

On the night the moon bled over Farpoint, Scarlett Rosenbaum’s life ended—and began anew.
One humiliating high school party and a stranger’s bite thrust her into a world of monsters hiding in plain sight. Now, every sunrise is agony, every heartbeat a reminder of what she’s lost—and what she’s become.

But Scarlett isn’t alone. In the shadows of her small Pacific Northwest town, she finds unlikely allies: a devil with secrets, a werecat with a fierce heart, a witch whose spells rarely go as planned, and an angel who’d rather work alone. Together, they navigate a labyrinth of supernatural politics, government conspiracies, and ancient vendettas. As Scarlett’s hunger grows, so does the danger—both to herself and those she loves.

Haunted by guilt, stalked by the vampire who sired her, and restrained by ORPHEUS, a government agency that would see her destroyed, Scarlett must decide: will she cling to her fading humanity, or embrace the darkness within? When the line between monster and hero blurs, survival means more than just staying alive—it means choosing who you are, no matter the cost.

A Sanguinary Rose is a pulse-pounding urban fantasy about power, self-discovery, and the price of becoming something more than human. Dare to step into the shadows—Scarlett’s story is just beginning.

If you’re getting this email, it means that, at some point, you felt some range of interest for this project. If you still feel some of that interest returning, feel free to grab yourself a copy at a preorder discount and enjoy!

Warmly,
Eduardo

Hey all!

Just now I’ve updated A Sanguinary Rose in two big ways. First, chapter four underwent a massive overhaul and is now back for your reading pleasure. Second, chapter five is now open for all to see for the first time ever. I made a few tweaks to the previous chapters as well.

Definitely take a look! I’ll continue working on my edits and will let you in on bigger updates later down the line.

Thanks for your continued support!

Quick email update to avoid getting spammy...

Good day, everybody!

Chapters 1 and 2 for A Sanguinary Rose have been updated once again. I’m giving chapter 3 another large sweep and I’ve still got to go over chapter 4 before I post it. Fingers crossed the changes are all for the better!

Last and most importantly, A Sanguinary Rose now has an official cover. Come take a peek.
It might not be the final version, but it’s as close as it gets to the idea. It was drawn and edited by the super talented Sofia Luengo. Hope you love it as much as I did!

Thank you so much for reading.

Good day, everybody!

I have great news to share regarding A Sanguinary Rose. First, I’ve continued going over the manuscript like crazy, so I’m updating once again chapters 1 and 2 for your reading pleasure. Fingers crossed you can tell the changes apart. A few of them are huge, while some are less noticeable technical ones.

Last and most importantly, I’ve finally added an official cover to the story. It might not be the final one, but it’s as close as it gets to the idea. It was drawn and edited by the super talented Sofia Luengo. Hope you love it as much as I did!

Thank you so much for reading.

Good day, everyone!

I realize I’ve been absent from Inkshares for a long time, but I have a good reason for that. This is wonderful news I want to share.

I’ve recently finished writing A Sanguinary Rose and I’ve been hard at work editing every line, every detail so it’s as good as it can be.

To that end, I’ve updated the first three chapters of the story, and will add chapter 4 again once it’s finished.
You can expect all of these chapters to resemble the final product.

As always, thank you so much for your support!

Hey all!

I’m excited to announce that my story, A Sanguinary Rose, has undergone a massive overhaul in light of the 2017 LaunchPad Manuscript Competition, and that you are able to read everything that was changed right now. Also take note that the synopsis was updated and a pitch was added in as well. I’ve been incredibly busy and isolated while working on this, and I see that a lot has happened since my last time here! It might take a while to catch up!

If you’ve followed my story before, I encourage you to take a gander at the updated chapters and synopsis. If you enjoyed this story before, and liked it even, I assure you it’s a hundred times better now, thanks to all the wonderful feedback I’ve received thus far.

Well, fingers crossed. And good luck to all the contestants!

Good day, wonderful readers!

I’ve been hard at work, especially now that I got wind of the Launchpad 2016 contest. I’ve made quite a few edits to the first three chapters, nothing massive, but some of them will stand out if you somehow decide to re-read them (especially the opening paragraph of chapter one. That was a substantial change).

I’ve also uploaded chapter four, which is short and sweet. Well, no, maybe not so sweet the way I see it. Quick! Give me some feedback before my confidence drops down to a crippling level! Surely then we can make something great out of it.

Also, big shoutout to Karen Kenyon for writing my story’s first recommendation. It really brightened up my day! Thank you!

And thank you all for having decided that my story was worth supporting.
Until the next update,

Eduardo Luengo

So much for trying to update within a week. Somehow that turned into a whole month. But it’s done, I’ve uploaded chapter 3. Again, thank you for your support and hope for the best in all your endeavors.

Hope you enjoy it. (And some feedback would be killer, too).

Until next time,

Eduardo Luengo

PS: Hope these updates aren’t getting too obnoxious.

As I promised, chapter 2 is up now. Hope it’s to your liking.

Hopefully, chapter 3 will be up by next week.

Until then!
