Manu Saadia's latest update for Trekonomics

Jul 15, 2015

Dear Trekonomics readers, supporters and followers,

I am elated to announce that as of today, July 15 at 1700 hrs, Trekonomics crossed the midway point to its funding goals: copies pre-ordered.

We were featured in the New York Times: I had a long chat with Op-ed culture editor Anna North, who then distilled the contents of our conversation in a very nice article. You can read it over there: http://takingnote.blogs.nytimes.com/2015/07/10/a-star-trek-future-might-be-closer-than-we-think

There is more press coming. For the trekkers among you, I am slated to appear on the Random Trek podcast next week, where we will discuss an episode of Star Trek: Enterprise selected at random!

In the meantime, those of you who have not yet pre-ordered your copies, please take a minute to do so, as it helps us getting closer to our funding goal. For those of you who have already pre-ordered your copies, we cannot thank you enough for your support. If you could help spread the word, we would be even more grateful! Inkshares has a nifty referral program. You can make money every time someone you refer to Trekonomics become a backer.

All these mercantile considerations aside, I could not be more excited about the enthusiasm and discussion this project has generated. There seems to be a place in this world for a modicum of optimism, and that in itself is a happy thing to behold.

Thank you all,
Live Long, and Prosper

- Manu
