Updates, Faoii! Listen up!
Our army still grows, and we’re still fighting our way back onto the Geek and Sundry Leaderboard. I suspect we’ll be back in the top ten next week, assuming we continue to pull more warriors into our fight. Be proud, faoii. More and more people have started following our progress. I’ve lost count of how many new warriors have followed us in the last three days-- and that is because of your influence. They’re not all ready to pick up their blades, yet, but they will be. We’ll prove to them that this is a world worth saving. A war worth fighting.
A war worth fighting. It occurs to me that an army is only as worthy as its foe. Giants sent against peasants are nothing. So today I want you to see what Kaiya and her army had to face-- and what we face as well.
I just sent out the newest excerpt Croeli-Thinir. You met him in Chapter 2, and you hated him by Chapter 3, but you did not know him. This particular excerpt doesn’t appear until Chapter 6, but it is the first time you begin to see the Faoii-Croeli war from his viewpoint. I tried to do all characters justice in The Last Faoii-- and that goes double for our primary antagonist. He is the reason the war exists at all, Faoii.
But what of our real-life opposition? Helena Echlin and Malena Watrous are two amazing, published authors with an established following. They are wonderful people, and both teach at Stanford’s Online Writer’s Studio. They were able to reach their Quill goal of 250 pre-orders and the number one spot on the leaderboards in one day. I do not think that we, a homegrown army led by a high-school English teacher from Montana, truly has a chance to beat them.
But we don’t have to beat them, do we? No. We only have to be in the top 3 to get mass publishing. Can you imagine what the world will say when our army claws to the top of that hill to stand next to those giants? As far as the world is concerned, we are nothing. And we will prove it wrong.
Believe me, Faoii. We will do the impossible. We will reach that hill and conquer it. We will stand amongst giants without fear or any sense of inadequacy. For we are faoii.
Let them hear us.
