Phillip Price's latest update for Slayers

Apr 20, 2016

Writing a book is not easy. Well, I take that back. Writing a book IS easy. Writing a GOOD book is mentally, physically, psychologically, and spiritually exhausting. One thing I have learned so far in the years that I have spent writing Slayers, is that in order to write a good Fantasy Fiction, you must thoroughly know each and every character inside and out. It doesn’t matter if it is the main characters, or the doorman whose sole purpose in life is the hold the door open for the royals who enter the ballroom. If the character is important enough to mention, then they are important enough to have a back-story. Why do they exist in this world? What are their goals and aspirations? What is their inner turmoil, because everyone with breathe in their lungs has inner turmoil.

The finished product (which is the book itself) is only the tip of the iceberg that was written in order to make the book. And I’ve built a pretty small iceberg so far. With that being said, I added a tidbit of back-story for one of the major characters that exists in the Slayers’ universe. I hope you enjoy it.
