And allow me to unmangle the prepositions from the previous update, and refer to the work, of course, as "Noir is *the* New Black." On which note! This allows me to add that Doug and I have come across an upcoming anthology with the same title, which collects short noirish fiction from an African-American vantage point.

Thus, we may also be amending/tweaking the title in the story’s next incarnation (and while we’ve been batting ideas around, remain open to any salient suggestions!)
