I thoroughly enjoyed this book. So often the main characters in our fantasy are the common stock of humans, elves and dwarves. It was refreshing to read a story where the main characters were goblins, kobolds and ogres. A well woven tale from a different perspective. That perspective coming from characters that would typically be cast as villains. If you want a plate full of fantasy with a bit of a different flavor this book might be exactly what you are looking for.

Crafted on the remains of some ancient citadel, the patterns of mixed stonework, added over the centuries, made the Library exponentially more intimidating than mere scholarly prowess should allow. From atop the building, imposing moonlit figures of gargoyles and other statues cast stalagmite shadows all along the walls of the Library compound. Strange glows and noises were known to emanate from the place, such that no one wandered near the walls of the large compound, . . .
