Thanks @Mike Donald ! You can actually critique any Draft you want. The list we’re supplying is a starting point - drafts that either voiced their interest in the event or came recommended by a syndicate or mod - but Soft Critiques given to any of the other Drafts on the site will still count towards the prize raffles :)

I was just thinking this, I almost had an anxiety attack just talking to a friend about trying to get published and asking people to share.

It’s aggravating to know that this is something that comes natural to some  people, I want that ability.

So, I’m a socially anxious natural introvert and the entire process of marketing my book is a generally terrifying concept to me. I hate going up to strangers and talking about anything, and I hate begging my friends for things.
That being said, I really, really, REALLY want my book to be published, so I keep finding myself leaving comfort zones I basically never would for any other reason. I’m talking to people I haven’t spoken to in a decade, people I haven’t had more than a ten minute conversation with as long as I’ve known them, and I’m bringing the subject up with strangers completely unbidden.
This got me to thinking: some people probably have really interesting stories about just how far they’ve gone to promote their book.
So how about it? Anyone have any crazy stories about going waaay out there in hopes of earning a reader? What’s the craziest pitch you’ve made?
