If the rest of the chapters of this are going to follow the impression and theme set by the opening, this is going to be an absolute masterpiece of a book. The author has an incredible gift for description and the characterization is beautifully done, touching on exactly the sort of things a 12 year old protagonist would notice. Just as Jason is drawn into the world in the puddle, the reader is immediately sucked into Jason's own world. An excellent piece of writing that I look forward to following to its completion!
