I have to give it to Andre Brun for tackling a touchy subject like religion in his debut novel Lies and Deception. While the idea of travelling through time, another difficult conceit to render convincingly in literature, and Jesus Christ doesn't feel new, I can't remember reading anything quite like this. The modern atmosphere of the samples also took me off guard. I'm eager to see where Andre is going with this and I hope he hits his goal.
