Knowing that there are supernatural twists coming is exciting, but this opening stands on its own as the authors expertly draw us into Laurel's rising panic at the disappearance of her sister. Definitely worth a look!
    Sparked
A gripping mystery with supernatural twists, Sparked hauntingly portrays the complex relationship between sisters and the lengths that one will go to save the other.

Subtle little touches like this and the "dribble" of the shower later on really help drive home just how low their family’s situation really is. Well done.

I suddenly had the thought that this is how it feels when the worst happens: you can’t believe it, and yet some part of you has been expecting it all along.
