Chip Colquhoun sent an update for Ripe For Execution

Thanks to all 15 of you! One day since I opened Ripe For Execution to pre-orders, and we’re already 5th in the running for Inkshares’ mystery-thriller-suspense competition! That’s only 2 places short of a publishing contract...

Usually Inkshares require 750 pre-orders before committing to publication – but with this competition, you just have to get enough to place in the top 3 competing titles.

It’s not just about the pre-orders, though – it’s about unique pre-orders: meaning it’s more about how many people place an order than how many orders are placed. So if one person orders 10 copies, they still only add one count to the book’s standing in the competition.

That’s why the most valuable help you could give right now would be to share the book’s page with as many friends & family you can think of who might be interested in such a rollicking political suspense thriller and/or a hefty dose of mystery. If you can do this for me, expect my greatest level of gratitude!

For, as I said in the video, this novel has been brewing in my mind for a very long time – and it’s definitely ripe for publication now. Inkshares’ mystery-thriller-suspense contest couldn’t’ve arrived as a more opportune moment!

By the way, a quick note on the book itself: it begins with chapter 10, and each chapter contains sections told from the perspective of one character (think of it like a cross between Speed, And Then There Were None, and... Game of Thrones!). So although you can currently see ten chapters listed for you to preview, that’s actually just one chapter – chapter 10.

I’m hoping to post whole chapters up at a time – so the next chapter will be 9, and has (uncannily...) nine sections. But if life gets in the way (as it often does for us creatives), I may only be able to post a few sections of a chapter at a time.

Please do comment in the "Discussion" tab on the book’s Inkshares page, though, to let me know your thoughts as to how the story’s progressing – and perhaps write a review of the book so far in the cunningly-named "Reviews" tab.

I look forward to sharing more with you soon! All the best...
