If you were in any respect a fan of stories such as Mary McMaster Bujold’s Vorkosigan sagas spanning decades, mixed in with a few playful hijinks of Janet and Isaac Asimov’s Norby Chronicles series, and perhaps a peppering of tactics as in David Weber’s Honor Harrington series (without as many hard cutaways in the heat of battle), this may be of interest to you.
The series is based upon investigation of the main character’s heritage as well as of the story’s villain(s) modi operandi, and uses increasing tensions, revelations, and tension-breaking moments to some effect. I don’t write "vulgar" scenes, so no outright cursory language; I do have character romances developing, but it is all written tastefully, in a "fade to black" sort of storytelling.
