Happy Satupdaturday everyone!
What a week it's been. 77 new supporters since last week, catapulting us not only into the top five, but we're now tied for number 3, with more than 35 supporters separating us from dropping out of "Guaranteed Publishing Contract" world. If I might offer you a brief look into my thoughts...

As always, there are folks who are following the project but haven't yet preordered. What are you waiting for? Howard wants you to!
What else to report? Well I've got a new cover. Is it a great cover? Eh. Is it better than the stock photo cover I had been using? Everyone says so, so yay. Among the services provided by Inkshares is cover design, so the finished product will look different. At least in the meanwhile I've got some color.
I have uploaded the next chapter in It's All Fun and Games. We are going to learn some secrets about some of the characters, and maybe create a little tension (beyond the fact that one of them is dead). Check out the project page to read it!
Many of you have been kind to share my project and no doubt have received Inkshares credits in return. What to spend those credits on? Well you can obviously buy more copies of my book. Duh.
Seriously, though, there are some really nice books here on Inkshares that are already in production and you don't have to wait for. I'm about 20% into Abomination, a Historical Fantasy about black magic in the dark ages. That's worth a read. There are a couple children's books that are great - The Cat's Pajamas by Daniel Wallace and Monday at Jelly Roll Dog Park by Jennifer Schreiber. Christopher, my 8 y/o gave two thumbs up to each.
Lastly, there's this guy: https://www.inkshares.com/projects/trekonomics?referral_code=c7056649 His book on the Economics of Star Trek has only 19 copies to sell before he hits his 1,000 preorder goal and the book moves into production. Give Manu a little love (and a little money).
Last item for my fellow Inkshares authors who have so graciously supported my project. There is a group on Goodreads that John Robin set up for us to communicate, strategize, commiserate, etc. You can find it here: https://www.goodreads.com/group/show/171196-inkshares-writers
Well that's it, everyone! Thanks again for your continued support of my project. This really does mean the world to me!
Dave
I don't even know how to express my gratitude and thanks to all of you that have placed a pre-order, and those of you that are following along. Only 9 readers away from crossing 200! I'm completely stunned and humbled by the outpouring of support I've received from family, friends, authors, and strangers.
Because of the competition I've had the opportunity to converse with other authors, and I can't help but cheer you all on in meeting your own goals. Beyond the scope of a contest alone, we are all contributing new ideas and literature. I've placed a few pre-orders for books already, and I know I'll be placing more before September 30th.
I'm generally pretty protective over my writing, not allowing people to read any of it until they can read everything. So far I've released a few teases between the prologue, chapter one, and chapter 4, as well as the snippet on Welcome to Deadland's Facebook Page, but I know it has been a few days since I've given an update or another look. I have a few things in the works to give additional insight into the book, but I want to take a 'less is more' approach instead of constant teasing. I will be uploading a more in-depth synopsis, one that would be included on the inside jacket flap or the back of a book, today so keep an eye out for that.
The good news is that the manuscript for Welcome to Deadland is fully written, and nearly fully edited. Of course, once I complete the first edit I'll be going back to the start and running through with another edit, and a professional editor if/when I meet the publishing goal either through The Nerdist Collection Contest or hitting 1,000 pre-orders. I'm extremely proud of this book, and from the feedback I've been receiving others have been enjoying it as well. The sooner we reach our goal the sooner the book can be in your hands in it's entirety.
Now I must politely ask, if you have a friend or relative you believe will enjoy Welcome to Deadland, please spread the word. If you have a coworker or a neighbor, please spread the word. If you've been following Welcome To Deadland and enjoying what you've read, please consider taking the step and placing a pre-order. I fully acknowledge that I rely on the interest and kindness of others to reach my goal, and I want my writing to be able to speak for itself.
As always, Thank You most sincerely,
-Zac
Happy Saturupdateday everyone! Chapter 3 is up for your enjoyment, and the first milestone (10 copies preordered) has been hit. It's a little milestone, but a milestone nonetheless. Thanks for your support and remember that if you like what you're reading, the best compliment (other than buying a copy) is to share my project with your friends!
Don and I both just bought copies of your book and so did my sister, Mary. Good luck in your quest, Dave!!
