For anyone who may have friends or relatives who are interested in grabbing a copy of Abomination, you should probably tell them that there are only about 80 signed copies left as I write this. GO GO GO!

Hello chums! We'll have a final round of cover concepts for you to look at and vote on very soon, and we're working on a polling system which will make it easier for you to select your favorite and for us to see the results! HOW EXCITING.

In the meantime, ABOMINATION is now on Goodreads! This would be the perfect time to go there and make the clicky-clicky with the green WANT TO READ button!

We'll have a new round of covers to look at very soon, and from this latest batch we hope to make our final choice - with your help of course.

In the meantime, some helpful advice:

          Hello reading people!

I have some more covers for you to look at and comment on! To those of you who pointed out that the wax seal on the earlier "beetle" cover made it look too much like The Secret - THANKS A LOT I CAN NOW NEVER UNSEE THAT. So the wax seal is GONE but the beetle concept remains in contention because I like it. You'll see the latest version of that here. I also asked Jason to work up some more variations on the "creepy forest" concept, which you'll see here. I really like the idea of a cover that is vague and atmospheric and suggestive of a general mood rather than showing anything too specific. As always let me know what you think!

            HERE COMES A NEW CHALLENGER!

A new rough concept just came in from Jason. What do you guys think of this one?

              OMG COVERS

Readers, backers, countrymen! I promised you updates and I intend to deliver like a crazy person! Let's talk covers! As we mentioned during funding, the amazing Jason Gurley is designing the final cover for the published hardcover edition of Abomination. Jason is the brilliant designer of many beautiful books, not least of which Hugh Howey's best-sellers Wool and Sand. Jason has officially retired from the world of book design but agreed to come out of retirement for one last mission. He has already dived right in, working up some preliminary concepts, which I'm thrilled to share with you here. These are just early roughs with a lot of work still to do, but the intention is to narrow these five candidates down to a final winner and then finesse the hell out of it. I certainly have my favorites among this bunch but I want to hear yours as well! Don't be shy about posting in the comments with your thoughts on the preliminary designs below...

Hello again you lovely people! I was at the Inkshares office today where everybody was very happy indeed. Not least of all me because I was just in time to see a new batch of advance reader copies arrive and it was actually the first time I'd seen my printed book in the flesh! The photo enclosed lets you know how I felt about it.

A quick thing about ebooks: I really want to make sure that you guys get a copy of the book to read as quickly as possible. For the printed version that can obviously take a little while as we have to  do all the mechanical business of printing, binding, production, and shipping. Of course the beauty of digital publishing is that we don't have to do any of that stuff and so the hope is to send out the ebooks in advance of the printed copies. And you are definitely getting an ebook because it was included no matter what version of Abomination you ordered. Amazing!

The ebook will come in both epub and mobi formats so it will work with kindle, nook, iPad, and just about every kind of tablet and e-reader out there. I can't wait for you to start reading it so we're gonna try to get that ebook to you as fast as we can. Stay tuned to this bat-channel! Also, for those of you that I have kissed on the mouth since the last update, I sincerely apologize.

                Gary

Hello you lovely people! Gary here. Just wanted to take a moment to thank you all for your incredible support and patronage of ABOMINATION over the past 24 hours. As you may have heard, the book smashed through its crowdfunding goal in a SINGLE DAY, which is absolutely phenomenal. It's an old cliche to say that we couldn't have done it without you, but in this case we literally could not have done ANY of this without you. So THANK YOU SO MUCH for believing in this book and bringing it to life with your support. I can't wait to get a finished copy into your hands.

On that note, with the book fully funded we're moving straight on to making that happen! The manuscript of the novel will now go through a final, rigorous copy-editing phase to weed out any remaining typos and other anomalies, and at the same time we'll be working with the amazing Jason Gurley on the final cover art for the limited hardcover first edition. Jason has already blown us away with some of his rough concepts, and we'll be sharing those with you as we begin to narrow them down to what will be the final cover. Stay tuned!

That's it for now, but there will be much more soon. Thank you again, if I could kiss every one of you on the mouth I would. And I may still do that. So be on your guard over the coming days.

                  Gary
