It’s 7:48 in the morning, I haven’t even had my coffee yet, and I’m watching as they’re hauling my body out of the river. I’m an Upload, a clone. They’ve mapped my genes, replicated my DNA, made a copy, and now I need to solve my own murder.

So, I’m a socially anxious natural introvert and the entire process of marketing my book is a generally terrifying concept to me. I hate going up to strangers and talking about anything, and I hate begging my friends for things.
That being said, I really, really, REALLY want my book to be published, so I keep finding myself leaving comfort zones I basically never would for any other reason. I’m talking to people I haven’t spoken to in a decade, people I haven’t had more than a ten minute conversation with as long as I’ve known them, and I’m bringing the subject up with strangers completely unbidden.
This got me to thinking: some people probably have really interesting stories about just how far they’ve gone to promote their book.
So how about it? Anyone have any crazy stories about going waaay out there in hopes of earning a reader? What’s the craziest pitch you’ve made?

L.V. liked a review for The Malef Chronicles Vol 1: The Sword Bearer
I don't write reviews, it gives me a headache. However, I cannot let slide a good writer when I see one, or read one. Whichever you would like to call it.While the first sentence of The Malef Chronicles does not necessarily draw you in, the wording and the way it is written is done in a beautiful way, detailing things without too many frivolous words (see what I did there?) and it makes the read enjoyable. This kind of science fiction doesn't grab me to an intense degree, it feels in a large way like reading The Lost Fleet series.Try giving the first chapter a read if you're at all into science/fantasy, even though I know you're all here just to show off your own book.-L.V.-
