Hey everyone! It’s been a moment hasn’t it!? Well... I’ve got my Emerald City Comic Con brief notes ready to go!

We hit Seattle and got to the Comic Con!

Then Zac and I set up shop!

There was a significant amount of food and drinks in between with Andy Ainsworth (These Old Bones) and then our Seattle family went and explored neat stuff.

The con was a success! Not only did we have a fantastic time, we also sold out.

So, now I get ready for the next set of conventions: COD Con (In April) and ACEN (In May). If you are reading this and in Chicagoland area for these cons, let me know.

As always, we are still questing for reviews on Amazon (Click Here) and Goodreads (Click Here) and Audible (Click Here). Please please please leave a review after you finish. It’s how little books get wings and go off to be bigger books.

Finally. I took an online personality quiz and found out I’m a metal bender.

Hell fucking yes.

If you have email addresses for them in your reader pipeline, they’ll receive the reader updates you post (using the project dashboard). Otherwise, I don’t believe Inkshares currently has the tools to generate twitter DMs to prospects.

Note: Most of us have found while general / bulk updates are important for followers and backers, only DMs really deliver in terms of translating prospects into pre-orders. As time consuming as it is, getting people to pony up requires the personal touch.

It’s been a while since I last post here. I’ve been somewhat busy going through the manuscript again. It can be kind of painful to do if you’ve done it before. the more you do it the more of a love/hate  thing  it becomes.

First time through you wonder at how stupid you are for having over looked this or that typo or misspelling. But you are still confident of your book. As you do it over and over again you find yourself more and more often re-organizing sentences and paragraphs and then doing it again. More so as you get various rejection letters or no response.

For submissions you are always doing the same first couple chapters over and over and after a while you get sick of them. Regardless of the story, you will get to where you feel like you hate those chapters, which causes you to rewrite them again and again.  It is quite depressing to do.

I’ve gotten past that stage in my re-edit. And it feels good. Now I am going over the parts that I don’t have practically memorized and I am enjoying my book again.

Even more so because at one point I had an agent who insisted that I cut the Dead Wizard by 30,000 -50,000 words. I did this reluctantly, but in some parts I had to agree it was a good idea. Now as I go through I’ll hit a part and think "Hmm, that seems a little awkward." I’ll try to rewrite it a bit. But if it feels a little stiff still, I think "I wonder what I did before?"

Much to my joy I have found well written sentences and connecting paragraphs that I threw off in a previous draft. Putting them back or adding the details left out has re-enthused me in my writing. It is the reassurance that I needed.

        Hi Readers!

So, it’s been a minute - happy almost springtime (although it’s already pretty much summer here in Southern CA and back in NY you’re all still digging out of the snow trenches). I know things have been a little quiet during production, so I thought I’d give you all an update on what’s happening right now!

I just sent the manuscript to a group of beta-readers who will be delivering their impressions to me soon, at which time I’ll do a few more tweaks on the draft and then deliver my final pass to the editors at Inkshares. Cover art is just getting underway, which I’m particularly excited for. I will certainly post some images when we feel good about what we’ve got!

At the moment we don’t have an exact publication date scheduled yet, but the estimate still remains end of 2017 or January 2018. Once it’s officially official, you will of course all be the first to know.

Thanks again for your continued excitement!
