While the book we're chasing, in 17th, may have changed, the goal has not. Only eight more pre-orders and we'll tie Paul's wonderful book "Ghosts of War" for total readers.

If I had my druthers, we'd all meet our goals and -- after this competition ends next week -- I've got a lot of credits to spread around and I will spend them on the books I most believe in. For now, though, it's a battle, and I'd like to gain as much ground in the standings as I can before Wednesday, when the contest is all over but for the crying (however, that is not the end of the road; the campaign continues and I'm soldiering on, like Ray and his cadre, until this campaign succeeds. Comma dammit.)
