Hello all,
A quick update. I have finished the rough draft of the book! It came in at 37 chapters, and was a blast to write. Now the hard work begins of editing the book, patching up some holes left in the story line, and adding some foreshadowing for events and characters I introduced in the second half the book.
My plan is to make an initial editing pass over the book myself for the next two weeks, then I will be seeking input from others. Please feel free to contact me if you believe you have the free time to peruse an admittedly very rough draft. I would be more than happy to solicit your feedback.
In sad news, I did not make it into the S&L competition, so no book publishing that direction. I am focusing on actually writing the book and editing it at present, so that the end product is worthy of your attention. If things with Inkshares don't work out, you may have to wait a little longer while I find an alternate publisher. We shall see.

Greetings once more from the Front Lines...
Things are progressing fairly well with the book. I have just finished Chapter 31, and begun work on the next. The rough draft features numerous smaller chapters rather than a few megalithic ones. The good news is I feel I am about 85% done with the book, depending on how the last few chapters play out. Yeah!
I have been finishing about two to three chapters a week, so I believe I am roughly two weeks out from having a complete rough draft. At that point I will begin my edit pass, cleaning up some of continuity and inserting some bits of foreshadowing for stuff I ended up adding to the second half the book.
Bad news is we have dropped out of the number Five position for the Swords and Lasers competition. :( I am going to work hard redoing a media blitz to see if I can get the word out about the book, and I know I have a few friends and family that still haven't signed up. As of this writing the gap is about thirty pre-orders or so. When I sit down to work I find I either can put on my Writing Cap (assault helmet?) or my PR Hat (Clown Nose?). Recently I have been focused on actually finishing the book instead of marketing it, but perhaps this is the wrong approach. Anways, I will redouble my efforts next week. If any of you could post a link to the book on whatever dark parts of the web you lurk, that would be a great help as well.
I posted an extra chapter this week as well, walking through some of the back history of how the Legion came to be. I actually have that story written as well, but decided to focus on this one first. If we manage to publish this book, I will have a prequel ready almost right away.

All, thank you for the support. Things have been progressing well...
Just finished "The Big Reveal" in the book, and am gearing up to write the final few action packed end chapters. We have hit our initial target of getting to #5 on the Swords and Lasers competition, and the book is progressing well.
I will post an additional chapter next week for you to peruse, one focusing on introducing a few of the additional characters who will feature throughout the book. And where else would you want to meet them besides the second worse dive bar in the Pleasure Domes of Enubos?
One of the editors from Inkshares also contacted me last week and asked me to write a little bio on the major science fiction authors that have influenced me over the years. The real challenge was doing it in under a few sentences. You can read about the interviews with the top 5 authors at the following link:
