Hey everyone. I just want to say THANK YOU again for pushing us past the 100 mark last weekend. It’s so humbling to have this much support, and I can’t tell you how much I appreciate it. As promised, I’m handing out the first three chapters of BLUE WATER. But I thought instead of just sending them along in an email that you have to print out and read, I’d do something else to make it a little easier. (Hopefully.)
At the bottom of this document is a link to our website. There, you’ll find a link to three different versions of the beginning of BLUE WATER, so that you can read it on your screen of choice, be it a computer, an iPad or iPhone, or a Kindle.
The PDF will be the simplest. If you want, you could just download that and print it, or read if from your screen. PDF is pretty versatile, and can usually be read anywhere.
The ePub and MOBI file are your expert (cooler) mode ways to read. I’ve tested both out, and they both work fine.

If anyone has any trouble, please do not hesitate to let me know, either by private message on Facebook, or emailing me at bluewaternovel@gmail.com
Thank you again for all your belief in this book. With any crowdfunding campaign, the worst fear ever is no one else shows up. You guys have answered the call in droves.
If you haven’t preordered Blue Water yet, maybe these three chapters will be enough to sway your opinion. There’s 32 more where this came from. If you want to know what happens next, we have to get to at the very least 250 to achieve a light publication goal. The good news is, three weeks in, we’re just shy of halfway there. So PREORDER TODAY, and TELL YOUR FRIENDS. Spread the word, share the chapters link with anyone you think might be into the book, and let them get a taste. The only way anyone reads more is if we cross the finish line. Together, we can finish this campaign, and finish this story.
Thank you all again. Keep up the good work,
Joseph Parcell
Character Update:
Ladies and gentlemen, I present you with our final character update for Tantalus Depths. You’ve met the crew of The Diamelen: Mary, Rook, Yancy, Hertz, Becky, Ramanathan and Gorrister. Now meet the non-human member of this cast of characters: the first to arrive on Tantalus 13, the trailblazer for the entire mission, the supposedly flawlessly loyal AI, SCARAB:
It’s one of the most advanced artificial intelligences ever programmed, specifically designed to meet every human imaginable. Yet...something is wrong with this one...
What did SCARAB find on Tantalus 13 in those long years before The Diamelen’s arrival? How did its discoveries change it? What secrets is SCARAB keeping from its human masters, and how far will it go to keep them?
Find out when you order Tantalus Depths.
All, a genuine thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support of Frost’s initial campaign on Inkshares. It may have failed, but I have chosen to relaunch with a longer funding period, and I hope you will choose to support Frost again. I know that with my determination and your support, we can make this dream of mine a reality.
I am still running a prize package for my top 10 supporters (supporters who pre-order multiple copies)! The top 10 will each receive access to the beta document on Google Docs (so you get to see new text and updates even before the people on Inkshares) and an 11" x 17" poster of your choice one of the AMAZING Frost illustrations Kaytalin Platt has done!
The top 5 supporters will receive a Frost coffee mug and bookmark in addition to the Google Docs access and 11" x 17" illustration poster.
The top 3 supporters will receive an additional Frost t-shirt and tote bag.
My number one supporter who orders the most copies of Frost will receive all of the aforementioned gifts, plus an exclusive invitation to Frost’s launch party!
All gifts are, of course, subject to this campaign’s success, so let’s make this thing happen, people! Thank you again for your love and support. It is truly appreciated!
So, I’ve decided to buy one book a month on inkshares. I figure that even if my work never sees the light of day, there’s some great reading on here. And while it’s nice to support someone, this is not simple charity, because from what I’ve read so far, I’m getting a damned good book. I also get a nice feeling knowing that in a very small way, I’ve helped someone’s dream come true.
Bustling crowds pushed their way through the subway station. Last-minute shoppers, arms full of bags, rushed to the next department store. There were the usual commuters, already looking forward to kicking back with a glass of eggnog and enjoying the holidays. A few families fought the crowds , laden with suitcases and duffel bags on their way out of town. Christmas carols floated through the air, mixing with the bells of volunteers dressed as Santa asking for donations.
“Jimmy, hurry up. . .

Hello, friends!
A quick one to thank the 105 individual readers, including the three syndicates and those of you who have ordered multiple copies, who have helped the campaign go as far as it’s gone. You guys are awesome, this is more of anything than I’ve ever sold in my creative life, and I appreciate each and every one of you.
My strategy, such as it is, was to see if the project would gain traction organically. It’s been a fun experiment and a definite learning experience, but unless I sell 114 preorders in the next ten days, Devil’s Call is not going to make it to Quill.
I’m doing what I can this last week and a half, but my real hope is that after reading this you, dear reader, will go on Twitter or Facebook or whatever the kids are using these days and tell a friend or three how excited you are about this project.
It takes 30 seconds to say, "Hey, there’s a really great genre-bending novel fundraising on Inkshares, it was written by an independent author, she’s halfway to her goal but has ten days left to reach it, it’s only $10 to preorder a copy and support diversity in literature," plus then you get the satisfaction of one day telling your friends how you backed the hell out of a project that didn’t look like it was going to make it and now look at it, all grown up and selling its own copies.
