I would greatly appreciate it if you would take a look now at the options below to help keep the momentum going, and see whether any are a fit for you.
There would be no book without you.
With sincere and enduring gratitude,
Kris
1. Read and Recommend
If you have One Murder More but haven't had a chance to read it, believe me I understand—my "to read" stack keeps growing. But if you are able to get to it soon it will enable you to find out whether you like it, and if you do like it to recommend it others.
Personal recommendations are the single most important factor in the life of a book!
In the publishing industry, people who use their social media or their email networks to share their love of a book are called "bigmouths" (meant in a good way.) You can also be a bigmouth by telling people in real life that you like the book as noted above, old school style.
When possible, please share my website www.kriscalvin.com, which has reviews and purchase options.
2. Review
If you've read One Murder More (or as soon as you do) and have not done so already, please review it on Amazon. Your review needn't be witty or erudite (although many of you somehow manage that!). Pick a star total and offer a sentence or two on what connects you with the book—a specific character, the setting or plot. (No spoilers, please, it is a mystery). You do NOT need to have purchased One Murder More on Amazon to review it there; log into Amazon as you do when you make a purchase of any kind on the site, search for One Murder More and scroll down to reviews. You can get to Amazon via the icon on my home page www.kriscalvin.com
3.Talk to a store
Although One Murder More is selling well on Amazon, I would like to see it in independent brick and mortar bookstores!
The below link lists independent bookstores with phone numbers, across the country by location (town/city).
http://www.newpages.com/independent-bookstores
Please call the one nearest you and ask if they carry "the recent debut political mystery novel One Murder More by Kris Calvin."
(If they ask, it is NOT self-published; the publisher is Inkshares, Inc. No need to explain the crowdsourcing aspect, it will likely just confuse them.)
Most of the stores will not have it in stock (yet) and will likely offer to order it for you.
Please order a copy, email me that you have done so (kcalvinauthor@gmail.com) and I'll promptly reimburse you the full cost, incl. shipping, as a gift from me, which you can "re-gift" to someone else. (When you order it you may want to have it directly shipped by the store to whomever you wish to give it to..)
Through this effort a bookstore will become aware of the book, yoll get a free copy to gift someone, and I'll gain a new reader (your "giftee").
Win-win-win.
Guerrilla marketing is part of being an independent author, please join me if you can, I believe this will make a difference!
*************************************************************************************************
We are nearly one month from the official launch of One Murder More to the public. We will find out soon whether the book "has legs" (continues to sell) or becomes one of the many books by debut authors that, despite positive reviews, can't get lift-off to find new readers.
