J. Graham-Jones liked an update for APEX

Dear Readers,

A lot has been happening since my last update. First and foremost, APEX was added to the Crypt TV collection, which means it will be promoted by Inkshares and CryptTV for possible film or TV adaptation, which is really exciting! I personally think APEX would make an excellent movie, but I’m seriously biased.

I have been diligently working on reworking my novel to make it the best book it can be, as that is what matters most. The major portion of that effort is regrouping the point of view in the chapters to preserve the mystery of what our geneticist, Claire, is doing. I have until the end of January to incorporate all my changes before I submit the manuscript to Inkshares for edits.

This past week, I submitted all my author information and creative work for the book cover, etc. The goal is to release the hard copy version of APEX on Halloween, a fitting date for a contemporary sci-fi thriller, don’t you think? At this point, I don’t know when  the ebook will be released, but it’s coming!

I got up at 6am a majority of the days during NaNoWriMo and tried to write for an hour. It was the only guaranteed quiet time I had. Jane-Holly (author of Fae Child) and Regina (author of Mothering: The Game) helped hold me accountable. We had so much fun checking in, we’ve decided to keep at it through December. We also managed to meet in person and have dinner this past week, which was great fun (we all live in Portland, Oregon area). They are even more delightful in person than online.

As January is a busy travel month for me, my goal is to finish most of the rework on my novel by the end of the year. I’ll check in with all of you around then and let you know how I did. Wish me luck!

Thank you again for your support and demonstrated faith in me. Publishing a novel has always been one of my top bucket list things to accomplish, and I couldn’t have done it without you.

Cheers, Debbie

Launching again. 90 days didn’t seem like a lot of time. And I’m not a salesman. But check it out. I’ll see about making more art work to advert it. I’m going to go through it one more time and resume work on the sequel. If you like the story pre order and I’ll get it out there one way or another.
Lord give me strength. Amen. :-)

It is December and time for syndicates to start looking for books to back! If you aren’t aware of the many syndicates on Inkshares, take some time to look at them -here-

Joining a syndicate is a great way to back a book every month. We can recommend syndicate membership to our Readers as well.

        Thanks for the feedback!

@Billy O’Keefe agreed.  Would love some more feedback here. Would folks prefer something more akin to the search page?

@Thad Woodman Yes definitely! That sort of digest for each book allows me to know what they are about without having to click, and website visitors hate clicks.

Quick question: Is there a reason that the website starts with the reader activity as the first thing a visitor sees and not the books themselves? I always thought it would be cool to have at least a smattering of featured books (maybe like the top three Staff Picks, or things currently on sale, or in a contest maybe) right at the top of the index. Now that I see your new concept for a book entry, I think it would be perfect to lure readers into the ecosystem to feature the books up front and personal.
