Nicole Bruno Cox liked an update for The Knightmares

Hi All!

Thanks so much so far for the support. It has meant more to me than you know, considering that very few people have ever laid eyes on my written work.

Thank you.

I am gearing up to release an interstitial chapter or two, which serve as tiny breaks from the main plot to help world build and tip the reader off to the larger story, as well as setting up potential future plots. Stay tuned for that.

AND, I am going to start working on a character trailer that will introduce you to the full cast, with some extra bits thrown in for fun. I guess I can put that animation degree to some good use, eh?

Thanks again! And keep your eyes peeled.

Nicole Bruno Cox liked an update for The Far Reaches

What a ride it’s been, gang. We entered the contest later on than we would have liked, yet climbed all the way up to 18th place out of 96 entries in a few short weeks thanks to all of your support. Unfortunately there was no award for effort in this contest. Congratulations to the three winners, though!

The contest may be over, but it’s not over for The Far Reaches. Our new goal is to hit 250 books ordered by May 10th. This ensures publication of the book in paperback and e-book form through Amazon after a light editing process. So far, we are at 55 pre-orders and have 57 days to go! And as before, if we don’t reach our goal by the deadline, refunds will be issued on May 11th.

If you’re wondering how you can stay informed of our progress as well as read full chapters of The Far Reaches, you’ve got several options!

Thank you all for your support, encouragement, and interest these past few weeks. I am excited to hear that so many of you want to read our book and feel honored that so many of you have pre-ordered it whether you want to read it or not. Inkshares is definitely a rad and supportive site and it’s cool to see so many fun and creative minds come together in one place to support each other.

Thank you again. This contest has been exciting and I look forward to continuing to share The Far Reaches with all of you as it continues to progress to what I consider a readable state. Have fun. Stay classy. We hope to see you in The Far Reaches...

Nicole Bruno Cox liked the forum thread, The First Inkshares Forum Post!!!
Hello Everyone and welcome to the very first iteration of the Inkshares Forum.  The current form is basic. The forum consists of four Topics - General, News, Books, Ask.  Any user can create a new Thread under one of these Topics, and any user can create a Post under a thread which functions just like other comments on Inkshares.  Moderators can move and/or delete Threads but cannot (yet) alter posts themselves.

That's the basic structure so far.  Obviously there's a lot more to do here and I'd love some feedback on what core features you'd like to see.  How about we use this thread as a means for providing feedback so we can be all meta-like!

Oh my God, guys. We passed 200 orders. We’re currently at 201, a mere 49 preorders from the Quill goal. As promised, a new chapter is up. And now it’s time for one last push; I think we can get to the goal in the next couple weeks if we try, especially if everyone who’s following but hasn’t preordered yet orders their copy. Thank you all SO, SO much.

Nicole Bruno Cox liked an update for Not Afraid of the Fall

When I initially decided to write Not Afraid of the Fall, it was fueled by both competition and fear. I grew up in a community of overachievers and highly successful people. Many of my closest friends own companies, restaurants and nonprofits. Many are studying to be lawyers, doctors and coaches.  My girlfriend is an strong women, who dedicates her to time to molding the minds of children to be successful. My Dad is a CMO for a global IT company and my mom founded her own pharmaceutical safety company. My sister earned her masters in social work while studying in New Zealand and is helping refugees find homes My brother in-law is a consultant with two masters and speaks more languages than I care to comment on, and my brother found his true calling in life as a chef.

I spent many sleepless nights in Europe laying awake fearing that I would never reach the level of success of those around me. What could I do to equal these successes? I convinced myself that if I wrote a book, I would be successful. I would have achieved something substantial. I could compete.

What I didn’t realize until the end of the journey was that it wasn’t the outcome of a book I needed, it was the process of writing it. By allowing my thoughts, feelings and views on life to spill chaotically into my journal every day, I was self-medicating. I realized that I just happened be surrounded by amazing people. I am so lucky to be able to call these people my friends and family.

Writing this book saved my life. Not in the literal sense that I would have died if I didn’t write it, but in the sense that it allowed me to really start living. I no longer quantified my own self-worth by comparing my life to others. My goal for this book is to help any of those that are struggling with the same issues to reach their own peace.

48 days to go....Let’s make this happen.

Nicole Bruno Cox liked an update for Uncharted Territory
Wanted to take a moment today to mention this. A year ago I was asked to write a story for the Lucky Stars anthology, which was released on March 17, 2015. I had no idea how to even start writing a romance, and I’m still pretty sure I didn’t pull it off.

What I ended up with was the kind of sci-fi stuff I usually write, but just happened to have a developing romance in it. But it ended up being a hell of a lot of fun, with a protagonist who turned out to be one of my favorite characters to write, and is now being fleshed out into the full-length novel Uncharted Territory.

A book which will very likely have a ton of sequels. :D
