Brian and Michelle Guthrie liked an update for Tantalus Depths

I have some extremely unfortunate news about Tantalus Depths.
Apparently, there was a significant amount of abuse relating to Inkshares’ free credits system regarding Tantalus Depths. This means a large number of the pre-orders it has accumulated were likely achieved by misusing the referral system Inkshares has in place, presumably by purchasing multiple copies using credits rather than cash.
I may be responsible for this, as I’ve encouraged people to make use of the credits system in the past, however the overall number of pre-orders that have been flagged as abusing the system is significant. Inkshares has been removing pre-orders that have been flagged as abusing the system, and as of now, Tantalus Depths has dropped dramatically to 557 pre-orders, and may continue to drop lower if they find more.
Inkshares is investigating this issue, as am I.
If any of you have been making illicit use of the credits system, I appreciate your desire to help, but please do not abuse the system. It isn’t helpful, and it isn’t right.
Since only 11 days remain in my campaign and I am now back down to at least 200 pre-orders away from the full funding goal, I have asked for an extension to my campaign. Meanwhile, your legitimate support is needed more now than ever.

    Hello Cape’s Side Bayers!

Here we go! One month left in the campaign, 146 orders until we reach 750. It has been a long exhausting road, and the light is finally visible at the end of the tunnel!

Hitting full-publishing is a close reality but not a given. Those of you that have pre-ordered already, thank you very much, but if you could recommend, share, insist on others that would be great.

The last month will be grueling, I believe we can get there, and I believe in this book and cannot wait for you all to get a chance to read it!

That’s all for now. Thanks for taking the time to read it. I’m excited for what’s to come!

Brian and Michelle Guthrie liked an update for Detective Diaries

          Hello, detectives.

It’s been a very long day of reaching out and informing people about Scarlet, and hopefully, all goes well with it. Despite the leaps certain projects may take before me, I want to wash away all that preemptive support they have, and work extra hard for those who enjoy what I write. However, this isn’t just about Scarlet--Detective Diaries is another treasure I hold close to my heart, and while the campaign of it is slow, there’s still hope and a chance to turn the tables. I know nothing else but "work harder" nowadays, and I promise to do so by making chapters better, changing up ideas, and discovering new ways of pulling people in.

Besides that, you, the reader--are here today for Progress Update, yeah? Well, sorry to say there won’t be a video this update, for I didn’t anticipate children to come over and be everywhere in sight. Nowhere is safe and suitable for me to be comfortable, and I realize that the only times I could do a proper video would be early in the morning or way late into the night. So, before the day of the Wednesday update, I will do the video, and have it ready for the update beforehand next time. I apologize.

Still, that doesn’t mean we aren’t gonna talk about some things! I know the beginning of the update seemed heavy, but this last part is all about good news! So, I had got a call from a family member of mine and she told me of a woman who hosts an honorary show-and-tell or sorts in our city and wanted me to come out and speak about my books. Not just one, but both of them! Teenagers, young adults, and elderly will be present from within the city to attend the event, and I’m grabbing my books and running out the door to let people know. I got business cards at the ready, and my speech (somewhat) remembered to entertain them.

Lastly, before I leave for work, I’m thinking about doing a audiobook for Detective Diaries and Scarlet. Just keep that in your minds for now.

          Until next time, A.J.III.

Brian and Michelle Guthrie liked an update for Tantalus Depths

Every once in a while, something will happen that reassures me Tantalus Depths is really succeeding where it matters.

Getting picked by the Break the Bechdel Syndicate was one of those, as it reassured me that Tantalus Depths was doing an effective job of representing strong female characters, which was crucial for me. Getting picked by the Great Sci Fi Syndicate was another, as it reassured me that I was effectively creating a science fiction work that embodied the best aspects of this genre I love so much. There have been many little things along the way that provide similar assurances that I’m on the right track, either in the form of reviews, recommendations, or general feedback. Today I was honored in a totally new way.

KSU Trumbull, the university branch responsible for almost all of my college education, did me the great honor of coming to me and holding this interview to promote my book. This is the same college where I honed my writing skills, took advanced literature classes, learned character development from theatre classes...heck, Tantalus Depths was written for classes at this school. The fact that they’d honor me by highlighting my work is a tremendous honor that I’m still processing.
Please go ahead and check out this interview.
Also! Tantalus Depths is now only 87 pre-orders away from FULL PUBLISHING. We have a bit less than 13 days to get there. We are SO close, everyone. Keep pushing!

Brian and Michelle Guthrie liked an update for Lucky

            My dear Lucky Readers,

We have a big month coming up. Lucky has 28 days left to fund and is behind 420+ copies. Now is the time to buy an extra copy for your local library or for your niece. Now is the time to convince your neighbor that they want to jump on the wagon. Now is the time to make this dream a reality. Think of it this way: this is a campaign that your vote can actually influence!

Also, trot over to my new project Children of the Teller (www.inkshares.com/books/children-of-the-teller) and give it a gander. I have entered it into the Inkshares/Geek & Sundry Fantasy contest that runs until November 1. Fun fact: Children of the Teller was to be my NaNoWriMo 2016 project and NaNoWriMo 2016 starts November 1. One simply can’t plan perfect timing like this.

To help support Teller, I have recently posted an update about the opportunity for readers to add their input to the novel. Check it out on my novel page.

As always, I welcome your feedback. I’m on Twitter, Facebook and Wordpress. Let me know what you’re thinking about!

Brian and Michelle Guthrie liked an update for The Punch Escrow

Just a quick note to let you know that things with The Punch Escrow are progressing better than I ever imagined. This book is really coming into its own.

The third draft of the manuscript should be complete in the next 6 weeks. Which would keep us on an early 2017 publish schedule. I am looking for fresh beta readers, so if you’re at all curious about the adventures of Joel Byram from the 25th Century, please get in touch.

I’ve submitted the final draft of my short story Morcom is here. to the Too Many Controllers anthology organizers. I will have more information on its publication date sometime later in the month, I believe.

Also, if you’re a size XL or L men’s shirt size, send me a message. I’ve uncovered a few extra The Punch Escrow shirts. First come, first serve.
