An anxiety prone exterminator believes vermin are stalking him. Strange sounds from inside his walls. Crawling sensations under the sheets at night. Snide rats heckling him from the shadows. Low on patience and medication, he decides to fight back.

    Hi Everyone,

In the last episode of "And The Wolf Shall Dwell"  we had just hit the 250 mark ("Quill") which promises the book will get published. We had then celebrated at "Disney on Ice" and reached 276 orders today. Since then I’ve been busting my head to think of creative ways of getting new readers, which will march us close to the 750 mark.

Thanks to Maya, we now have a Facebook page ! I’ve been asked to implore you all to help us out by visiting it and hitting Like. Also, if you have an aunt, a cousin, a neighbor or other friends you don’t mind bugging - please Invite them to the page. Wouldn’t you love the Wolf to hit the NEW YORK TIMES BEST SELLERS, when you already have your own signed copy and bragging rights of discovering me??

remember it’s not the old fashioned Like we need, i.e.:

It’s in fact this little bugger we’re after:

Well not quite... But admitedly  it’s more fun with beer... Do visit us - here’s the link again

That’s a great time to remind that if you order a "spymaster" your name would be in the Patron List page inisde the book !! now, that’s def worth considering...

Regarding the novel itself: i am still in editing mode whenever I am not selling it you. if anyone would like to be a beta reader and to review on Amazon/Goodreads when the day comes (still plenty of time) - please reach out.

    Have a glorious week ahead!

    Joni

      Dear friends and faithful followers,

Yesterday, I received an order from someone who told me he thought he’d placed an order ages ago, and only just realised that he had in fact forgotten to do so. As such, I should like to ask you, all those of you who think you’ve placed an order, to please check to be sure you have in fact done so. The easiest way is to simply go to the project page to see if the buttons say "pre-order" (you haven’t, so do it now or you’ll forget again) or "pre-order again" (you have, but why not a second time?)

That said, we seem to be doing well. We’re at 186 orders, and 99 readers. So the question is: who will be reader 100? And will I be able to work this person’s name into the fabric of the story somehow?

Now, on to the weekly what’s-what around the bookshelves.

      1) "Louisiana Blood", by Mike Donald. It’s a fresh take on the Jack the Ripper mystery: what happens when vital evidence surfaces a century after the fact in, of all places, the sweltering bayous of Louisiana? Donald comes from a film-making background, and it shows in the attention to visual detail. Expect to be properly immersed in the action. This book is just 10 pre-orders short of its Quill goal right now, and the clock is ticking. Go get it.

      2) "Goodbye, Angel", by Ryan Smith. This one just started its campaign, and I swear it went from "draft" to "funding" at the same instant I clicked to follow it. It’s a hardboiled noir set against a backdrop of sunny beaches and rolling surf. Smith used to work as a crime reporter in Florida, so he knows what he’s writing about.

      3) "Pixilated Obsidian Roses", by RF Martin. If you liked JF Dubeau’s "A God in the Shed", you’ll love this one. It’s a dark fantasy, several shades darker; or maybe it’s horror. It’s about unearthly supernatural beings meddling in the lives of two men separated by history, manipulating their fates into a sort of twisted concordance. It’s ... well, it’s worth a look, anyway.

Until next week, friends and faithful followers. Have fun, and keep reading.

Oh, and don’t forget to pre-order.

James Rasile liked an update for Champions of the Third Planet

        Hello Champions,

Just a quick note to let you know I’m still writing! I usually write with a soundtrack playing in the background so I thought I’d share what Champions of the Third Planet sounds like to me.

First, this track from Two Steps From Hell, which was used in the Star Trek trailer a few years back. I picture a lot of the moments from the beginning of the story here, with the kids discovering the Orb. Milo says, "I found something in the woods" around the :38 mark and the Orb takes off around 1:02: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KxkJvYGP2qE

This track is from one of my favorite bands, the Dandy Warhols. It seems to get used a lot in movies and trailers. It’s pretty high energy and a lot of the very original images for Champions came to me with this song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FuFtfhOipNQ

Whenever I’m thinking about the kids on the Dead Planet in their quieter, melancholy moments -- hanging around, missing home -- I think of this part of John William’s score from Star Wars, where Luke is looking up at the binary suns: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Gt8D8SXD_8

This track from Mad Max: Fury Road is something I’ve been using for a huge set piece late in the book that I can’t tell you about yet, but I love the furious intensity: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Gt8D8SXD_8

I don’t know if any of this music makes sense to you in terms of the book, but it’s all awesome and it all speaks to me for this story, which I guess is what counts.

        Back to work!

        --Chris

James Rasile liked an update for Cape’s Side Bay

Hello and hope you are all having a great weekend!

Friday I posted about having 98 pre-orders and later that day we hit the big 100! We are currently at 42% of our light-publishing goal and 14% of full-publishing.

I’m thrilled to be past the 100 mark and want to once again, and at the risk of sounding like a broken record, thank you all for your support and for pre-ordering!

The mugs were all drawn and the winners will be e-mailed shortly!

We’re still a long way to go from hitting all of our goals, please keep sharing, recommending and spreading the word any and every way you can. You’ve been an amazing help and let’s keep this going!

          Enjoy your Sunday!

          James
