Quick little follow up to yesterday's update.

BrotherBaston has just posted the time lapse video for the first four art pieces he's done for the Ghosts of War campaign. It's really cool to see them take shape.

It's Sunday update time...and it's an exciting one.

Today I received the first bits of art from Patrick Le Roux (BrotherBaston) and they've come out really cool. Here's a group shot of the four main characters that form Shadow Point.

I really like how they came out and I hope you all do too. There'll be a couple more character shots coming later this week so keep an eye out.

If you'd like to see more of BrotherBaston's work you can find him here:

Some time soon he should be uploading timelapse videos of the creation of the above pictures, but I don't have a timetable on that as yet so I'll keep you posted.

As a short writing update, it's progressing well but after a solid month of writing I've decided to take a few days off over the weekend and will get back to finishing up the first draft this week. I'm into the last few chapters so hopefully it won't be too much longer till the draft is complete and then...rewrites.

Also in case you missed it, earlier in the week I posted a new excerpt from the book, you can find it at the link below.

    An excerpt from Chapter 6

And lastly, thank you to all the new backers in the last week, your support is really appreciated.

    Until next time.

So here's some kinda cool news...

Yesterday there was a nice surge of pre-orders (thanks again to everyone who has pre-ordered so far) and Ghosts of War has moved up into 8th place overall. Let's hope things keep heading in that direction as the campaign progresses.

Now there's something else that has brewing behind the scenes for the last few days that I can now talk about. I am happy to announce that I have commissioned artist Patrick Leroux (BrotherBaston) to create some key art for the 7 main characters in Ghosts to provide a better idea of what they look like. Patrick's style should add a real nice edge to the characters and I can't wait to see what he comes up with and share it with you.

For a look at some of Patrick's other work you can visit his youtube and deviantart pages by following the links below:

      More updates to come.

Thanks to everyone who's pre-ordered the book so far, your support is much appreciated.

Just thought I'd give everyone an update on how the writing is progressing. In short it's going well.

The longer version is I've just hit 77,000 words and I'm in the midst of writing Chapter 25 (of around 32 planned chapters) and things are chugging along nicely.

Estimates put the page count of the book at around 310 pages at the moment, so it's entirely possible I end up over the 380 pages mentioned above. Could be more in the 400-420 range, but we'll see.

At this stage I'm looking at having the first draft complete by the first week of May at which point I'll give it a few days to breathe and then I'll take to it with a red pen and tidy it up a bit.

It's kinda nice to be getting towards the end of the story finally. Though I do wish ideas for the sequels would stop popping up and interrupting my flow.

        Until next time.
