This is only my opinion, so take it with a grain of salt, but I think this would be a perfect opening line for this prologue. 

I like that you didn’t wait too long to introduce an interesting character. It’s extremely difficult to show us a new world without getting lost in the descriptions, and I think you made a good decision with the pacing here.
