Yesterday, I sent out my fourth monthly newsletter, sharing the 5th chapter of Blood Dawn. Those of you who don't subscribe to my newsletter, I want to remind you of this great opportunity to read a chapter a month of Blood Dawn up until next April. This will allow you to access the first 13 chapters--about 1/4 of the book.
Here's the link where you can sign up, and find out more about what you can expect as a subscriber:

On the topic of Blood Dawn's chapters, I wrote the 28th chapter (5th Skippy chapter) last weekend and thought I'd share my editor's feedback on it:
Hi John,
I will add that usually Lizette (my editor) finds some faults with my work, especially regarding pacing. I will then spend the following Wednesday rewriting / revising the chapter to address whatever she has brought up to ensure the completed draft is solid. These last two weeks, however, it seems my batting average is going up. It's very encouraging given that I'm now past the midpoint of the novel and this is often where, especially in longer novels, things either come apart or start to sag. My intention is to make every chapter more exciting than the previous, all the way to the end, and to keep everything relevant.
I have to thank you all for stepping up to support me--when I open my manuscript to write another chapter every weekend, I have my readers in mind, and I find I am more inspired, creative, resourceful, and that's how the great storytelling happens.
Hope you all are having a great week,
John Robin
Hello readers,
I'm excited to finally share with you the trailer for Blood Dawn! It's now at the top of my Inkshares page:
https://www.inkshares.com/projects/blood-dawn
You can also watch this on my YouTube channel if you prefer: https://youtu.be/wSziNb80ssA
A great thank-you goes out to one of my backers, and a fellow Inkshares author, Yicheng Liu, who helped me with the initial stages of getting this video together. This video would not have happened if not for his generous offer to help. You can find out more about Yicheng's work by visiting the project page for his humorous sci fi, Remains of Civilization, by clicking here. While there, be sure to check out his great video trailer and consider backing his project. I also want to thank the numerous others (you know who you are) who offered detailed feedback with the three versions this video went through before coming into its final form. Creating this video has truly been a collaboration between author and readers, which I think is just awesome!
I am very proud of how this video turned out, and just love the music by Zefz (more about him here). When I listened to his track, "Dark Winds", I just knew it was meant for Blood Dawn.
Right now, there are 58 of you (doubled from last month!) who will be receiving this. Some of you have already backed the project, but others might still be sitting on the fence, in which case, thank you for showing interest and following this project! I hope that this video trailer will give you all a more immersive sense of what Blood Dawn offers. (You can also download an excerpt of the opening few chapters in .pdf, .epub, or .mobi format here on NoiseTrade.)
Please spread the word. Even if you can only think of one friend who might love this video, please forward this email on to them. (If you can think of ten, I will seriously mail you a box of chocolates!) We've all come together to believe in this project becoming a real, printed book, and in order for that the happen, we need 2,501 readers to say "yes" to this book by coming and pre-ordering a copy. Even just one more person discovering this book and coming on board is one more vote towards that milestone.
I've also set up some links for you to share this on Twitter, Facebook, or Google+ if you'd like to do that too. You just need to click them and the information will pop up for you to send:
Thank you so much for your support! Here's to team work. Let's keep the excitement growing and make this happen.
John Robin
