James Rasile liked an update for Tantalus Depths

Author spotlight!

This week, I’d like to direct your attention to the fascinating dark fantasy Borehole Bazaar: A Vow Unbroken, by  Kendra Namednil

This is a fantasy epic of a different breed. Familiar fantasy creatures coexist and interact in unfamiliar but truthful-seeming ways in a world where one must tread carefully amidst hostile forces on all sides, at all times. Kendra expertly sets the tone and breathes atmosphere into this masterwork of dark fantasy. This isn’t a fantasy land for escapists: this is a brutal, savage land full of danger and catastrophe. In a world like this, where everything is at odds with you no matter who you are...just imagine what kind of hero can arise.
Get this book to Quill, because I really want to read it.

Also, Tantalus Depths is only 4 pre-orders away from 400. Just saying ;)

    Good evening all!!

Since we’ve hit 125 orders, it’s time for me to reveal another piece of the digital painting! As a reminder, everyone who pre-orders a copy will automatically get this free digital painting :D

After my recent visit to Wisconsin, I felt inspired to draw some of the characters you will meet in AYSYWTQ?. Below, I have a rough pen drawing of a certain dragon that will make his/her debut in Chapter 4 - Scorchlands. Check it out!

Please pre-order a copy if you haven’t yet :) Thank you all for supporting my project and dream of publishing my first novel. Have a great night!!

A very good Wednesday to all!  Someone won a prize as I have hit 125 sales, but the randomizer has not yet been run.  I am in transit from my hometown of Arcata back to San Francisco, so said randomizer will spin as soon as I get back home.  (Probably tomorrow morning)

The reading was very good and quite a bit of fun!  Even though it was smaller than I’d hoped, I think it was a good crowd and, hopefully, these folks will help to spread the word!  Prizes were doled out and there was much rejoicing!  Also a whole lot of interest in whether I was going to build a D20 world setting off of this series and how exactly that would work.  I hadn’t much thought about building a system, but I love typing, so who knows!  (Well, that is to say, I’ll throw it on with the other million projects I’ve got stewing)

Now, for the weekly story!  In fact, I’m gonna put up all the previous stories, just in case you missed them.  They’re linked in, so just press the story you would like to read and BAM!  You’re there!  As always, pre-read these tales before just assuming they’re appropriate for your kids.  They should be, but…

        Kiki and the Cantaloupe

        Kiki Angers Ambition

        Kiki meets Tranquility

        Pretty Girl and Luchadore

        Bosco Follows his Nose

This week’s story -->;;;;;;  Forgiveness in a Latte

And, of course, please check out the changes to Borehole Bazaar’s Landing Page!

          Layout Options

          Hey Everyone!

So, I’ve been playing around with a variety of layout options. One option includes putting text on a white page with illustrations on an opposite page. Another layout option would include putting all of the body text on top of the corresponding images. And, a third would be more of a hybrid option.

If you were to choose one layout, what would you choose?

          A) White with adjacent illustration

          B) Text on images

          C) A hybrid of the two?

              Story Update:

When only a few thin layers of fabric are the only things protecting you from an empty, hostile void, you want to make sure you’re getting the best protection available. Fortunately, Mary Ketch and the rest of the crew of The Diamelen have been equipped with highly reliable exo-suits. Will these suits be enough to keep them safe in the unknown depths of Tantalus 13? Only time will tell...

                Hello my Knightmares!

Yesterday evening we hit 150! This is great news! And thank you to everyone who has supported me. Without you I wouldn’t be here, and without you I won’t be where I will be when all this comes to fruition.

With that said, I need everyone’s help! Everyone knows a friend or two who would be willing to support this book. Maybe it’s a family member who loves supporting the arts, or maybe it’s a handful of friends who dig horror fiction. Whatever the case, I need everyone to reach out to these people and try to get just two friends to pre-order. If you’re able to get two friends, I’ll throw in a FREE tshirt!

Want to see what that tshirt looks like?

                Here’s the front:

                And here’s the back:

It’s a pretty good deal! Plus, for ever soft cover book order, you’ll get a free bookmark! And anyone who orders two or more books, you’ll get a FREE poster of the new cover art (coming soon!).

AND we’re only 30 pre-orders away from the conclusion of the mini-story I posted last week! Check it out if you haven’t already. You can find that here.

                  Hey everyone,

I hope the week is treating you wonderful. I will be sharing chapter 13 of my my novel tomorrow and it will be the last chapter I share until the book is in final edit and published. So if you want to read the rest help me reach my funding goals by ordering a copy or sharing with your friends.

Chapter 11 is action packed with sex, violence, and of course drug use. Our protagonist is put in a very vulnerable position that shapes the continued story. Events begin to unravel and this chapter is just a new beginning.

Excerpt from chapter 11: "Exhausted and sore I sweep away the glass and lay down on the blood stained bed. I stare at the ceiling until it leaves my focus. A blurry background to the night’s memories playing out like a savage movie. A crime scene becomes my cradle."
