SHE WOKE BLIND to the scream of a siren.
Naked and encased in a standard travel pod, Relai spat out the dead breathing mask and heaved in a panicked breath. She pulled her face wide and horrified until her sealed eyelids tore open, blinked, and recognized drops of condensation forming on the gray plastic above her face. She was lying on her back.
Her pulse throbbed in her neck, in her temples, and she knew she wasn’t getting enough air. Slow down, slower, then—
No light and n. . .

Thinking of approaching the lawyers in regards to my last book, which a top two publisher own the rights for, but spent zero on promotion for its launch. Feeling too worn out to go through the inkshares process and build up a base etc, especially when I’ve spent 10yrs of doing the hard work and over 100 rejections, only to have success, around 200,000 sales, and then get screwed. Inkshares has some great writers, but I’m lost here. My last sample posted here got no reviews, so why to people bother saying it’s great. If it’s not, please don’t say it is.
Oh dear, what a rambling, depressing update. I better shut-up.
Cullen sniffed to see where the trolls had gotten to. Gheen sat near a tree twenty yards away and the others were down near the stream. He turned away from Gheen, reached down and tore a few blades of mulegrass growing at his feet. He worked quickly, knotting the grass and weaving in a few pine needles. Sooner or later someone would find this camp, and with luck they’d find the message coded into the grass weave. With Ounwe’s blessing, they’d take word back to the village.
