I wish this was available also.  I will try the email to cancel/reorder method mentioned below.

I definitely would like to upgrade a purchase and just went searching to see if that was possible. Thank you.

@Thaddeus Woodman also worth exploring shipping costs if someone ordered twice. My parents first ordered a reader, then 3 books, why should they pay twice for shipment ?

I’ve had a few questions about this as well. I think this would be a very handy feature for your website.

Thanks @Liam Dynes et al. for the feedback here. We’ll explore the ability to upgrade your purchase as a feature.

In the meantime if you’d like to upgrade you can contact us at hello at inkshares.com and we can refund your previous purchase (if you used credits let us know so we can refund those as well).

No developments in Canadian shipping yet.  I’ll let you know when we have more shipping options available.

@Thaddeus Woodman Hmm, I hadn’t really thought about the refunding and buying another. Especially if some are bought on credit or some not (or a mix of both), I figured that would be more hassle than it’s worth. And not wanting to force you guys to do a bunch more transactions.

But I think I would definitely like the option, if it’s something that’s been explored at all.

(And, unrelated, but has there been any developments on Canadian shipping? Or do we think that there will be the $15 flat rate international cost for the foreseeable future?)

Most definitely would appreciate this as an option.

I’ve found myself wishing for this option a number of times.

Yes. I imagine that there might exist a number of people in Liam’s position, who haven’t gone to a softcover purchase simply because of the added cost of making a new and separate purchase.

Also, if I find a couple of friends living near me who also want a book I’ve already pre-ordered, it would be nice to be able to upgrade to the top tier. That way, our books are sent in the same shipment and we can share the fees instead of each of us paying the full amount for three-or-more things that are all going to the same neighbourhood.

Hey @Liam, not yet, unfortunately.  If the book is still funding you can purchase another copy and we can refund your original purchase.

This is something we’ve been considering for a while. Anyone else think an ’upgrade’ feature would be useful?

Is there/has there been considered a way to upgrade from an e-book purchase to a softcover without buying outright again?

I.e. if there are a couple things that I picked up in ebook form only but later decide that I want a physical copy, can I apply the existing order to the cost of the new one?

I can’t be the only person who has had second thoughts after buying in at the low tier.
