@Liam Dynes I also felt like a super-spy until I saw you had beaten me to it.  Perhaps I can still be a bumbling P.I.?

Thanks for the feedback everyone! A few updates to note.  I just added a sort option at the top of the page that allows you to sort by newest or oldest.  I'm keeping the default order as most recent first for the time being, but you can now easily jump the first comment.

@Janna Grace and @Steve Soldwedel , thanks for the heads up on the sign in issue. I'll take a look and hopefully have that fixed soon.

As for 'replies' I agree that this would be great to have and I'd love to have this functionality site-wide. It's going to take a little bit of work but I think we could have this available soon.

Keep up the invites! I've linked to the Forum in our 'About' menu and in the footer, so everyone can consider this 'live' now!

Another thing to shore up, which is not just relevant here, but site-wide is to where a user is directed upon signing in.

After being prompted to log in to use the forum, I was sent to my author profile instead of being sent back to the page on which I'd been. For me, this is a frustrating user experience. If I was somewhere and diverted elsewhere, I want to be sent back ... not diverted to yet another page.

Thanks for the invite @Thaddeus Woodman and to @Joseph Terzieva for getting this started. LOVE it. Reading through everyone's suggestions, I have to say that nesting comments, reading newest at the top of the thread and an easier way to respond to readers' comments would be incredibly helpful. Also, I'm not sure if this applies, but I found that a lot of people had difficulty in creating an account because they only saw a Log-in option. If I hadn't pestered people with step-by-step instructions, I definitely would have missed out on some preorders (especially from the less tech-savy readers). Simple fix would be to add a "Create Account" option? Thanks so much; looking forward to discussions here as well as on Goodreads!

I think a sort option, so you can either read newest to oldest or vice versa, according to your preference, would be a nice touch. I also second nested replies.

If you find your way here, you belong here.

If someone lurks on a forum that doesn't even technically exist yet, having superspy-ed his way in, does this mean he's the world's greatest detective?

That got me in the beginning, but now I like how it is laid out. Check this thread for discussion on it.

my number one suggestion would be to have the threads read from oldest to newest going down the page. It seems counterintuitive to have to scroll to the bottom of the page and read it backwards to catch up.

I totally agree with @A.C. Weston here. Nested comments are great!

When Facebook added nested replies to comments on posts I realized how much they help keep a thread organized. It would be nice to have that.

Also, @Tony Valdez , @Tabi Card , @Steve Soldwedel , and @Jeyna Grace , come check out the new forum!

I never found a lot of use for the quote feature in Goodreads. Usually it was truncated in a way that wasn't that helpful. Maybe a jumpback to the original post so people can check them if necessary?

@Elan Samuel I was thinking the same! The tag feature is nice for grabbing someone's attention, but actual replies (especially if they can be minimized) would be more helpful when reading through a larger thread.

This is great! Thanks for the invite, @Thaddeus Woodman!

My first thought is that it'd be great to have a reply/quote feature, but it isn't a must-have feature or anything. Looking forward to keeping the conversations on the platform! Goodreads is great for some things, but I'd much rather talk about Inkshares projects right here :)

@Joseph Terzieva love this!  Would love some fresh eyes on this.

@Elan Samuel , @Janna Grace , @Paul Robinson check out the new forum we're developing.  What do you think?  Feel free to tag a few folks you think might provide some helpful feedback!

Okay, I'll create a brainstorming thread then :)

Go nuts. This forum is being actively developed, so if you post your thoughts they are likely to be read by Inkshares.

My personal hope is that this becomes so essential that people gravitate to the forum. I don't want to force people off of Goodreads to use something. They should want to come here.

So are they hoping that the topics manifest organically? Or can we brainstorm some ideas that should be added once this goes public?

Just creating a thread to onboard people when Inkshares forum comes up in conversation. This will lead into us building this space up.
