I can tell you what has worked for me is to have about two different stories that I am working on: one that I try to focus most of my time and creative energy on, but the second one to jump to when I hit roadblocks in the first. Crafting a story is a bit like doing a puzzle, but when I can’t see the solution no amount of forcing it will make it happen. But turning to my "alternate" story sometimes helps my brain subconsciously find a path forward and I’ll bounce back and forth between the two stories. In the end you have to do what’s most productive for you.

Honestly focusing in on one project at a time might be for the better. There’s nothing wrong with having all of these great ideas and wanting to explore them. But if you start juggling more than a few eggs a few are going to hit the floor. If you spend your time scattered all over these various projects your work on some of them may suffer in quality. However if you narrow in on one particular story and put all of your energy towards that you may discover that you’ll be able to create one far better project than a dozen sub-par ones. I would say give it a shot to focus for a little bit, make some progress and see how you feel about it. Don’t put yourself through hell because you think you need to prove yourself, do it through putting out quality writing.

I have been on Inkshares for almost a month now and I love it. It’s great for inspiring authors and readers looking to be a part of creating the story, in a way. I originally put up pieces of my various projects up and I wanted it to be seen that my style differs. But, after careful consideration and based on scattered advice, I’ve decided to limit my work to one project projected on my profile.
I’m in no way giving up on my other work, more so I am just taking another step in the same direction just with different shoes on. I want the project that is public to be for my Inkshares profile because I feel like it has a good starting point to create a foundation and build,. To me, that’s what Inkshares pretty much is to an extent.
My other work will problem go up else where. It upsets me slightly because I had the one book that I self-published on Amazon but pulled it to attempt it through here. Talk about biting off more than I can chew, right? But either way, I’m proud of all my work and I know others will love it once I put it out there.
If you haven’t seen the project, go to my profile and follow ’He is by himself’. I should hopefully have a bit more up for it soon but I want to see it gather a following before I dedicate strict time to it. Nothing wrong with what I have planned for the story, just too many stories all at once which my fiancee has told me I shouldn’t do and I, of course, am too stubborn to listen.
Either way, thank you to all of my followers, those that follow my projects, and to me fellow writers for all the advice I continue to gather from this awesome site.
