I'm not hot on the "new" feature anymore with the abilities already in the system, but you are right the best way to proof it out is to dump users on it.

Cool. Definitely something we can revisit as the volume increases

I quite like the sorting. It didn't take long to get used to it. Being able to see all the threads in one list and the date they were last modified serves my purposes.

Hm, that might be a little tough.  I'd definitely like to stay away from having to calculate new threads on a per user basis :)

How is the current sorting and meta-data working out on 'inkshares.com/forum'

On Goodreads, it shows us which threads have comments that are "new to us," this is helpful from a moderation standpoint because it helps us identify which threads we might need to check for spam or people being terrible. That might be a hard thing to implement though since you are tracking it on a per-user basis.

This is kind of happening already, albeit subtly.  Threads are currently sorted by most recently updated (most recently commented on) which is referenced on the thread list ('updated x time ago').  Are you thinking of something along the lines of having an 'x new posts'?

Seeing which threads have new posts is helpful for administrators to see what might need to be reviewed. Helpful for readers who want to jump back into a conversation.
